2026 FIFA WORLD CUP

… I’m happy to see it return after 4 years but it has generated little excitement. I’m not enjoying horrible gawd awful situation in my country, it equals the 1932 Summer Olympics in nazi Germany.

The World Cups that generated excitement for me were the 1994, 1998, 2002 & 2006 editions. 2010 & 2014 saw my enthusiasm starting to dip. This tournament has been turning more into a circus rather than a prestigious event, and all the corruption that filters through.. gawd damn. The 2022 Qatar tournament was pretty stupid, playing in December in the middle of a European club season.

My favorite national team Seleção hasn’t convinced me of their play, even with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm .. I feel they seriously lack that luster that previous Seleção had. Little to no mojo…
