I think that HIC’s tendency to keep around “lower life forms” that she deems useful/grows attached to is just a twisted version of Meenah’s desire to keep being with her friends in the dream bubbles because despite being mean, she genuinely cares about them

I never see enough of that. Of people remembering that the ancestors and the dancestors are the same people in more than genetics. Sure they have different ways they act and think as a result of Alternia and scratch’s influence, but the way they think and act really boils down to the dancestor’s original personality and just. Who they are in general

Meenah expresses desire to be a sister/mentor figure to Feferi because she wants to “show her how to be awesome” which to me seems like a clear wish for companionship from someone whom Meenah thinks will understand her. And she openly acknowledges that she finds the biological urge to kill her annoying.

And then we see this same dynamic but in a messed up way, where Condy is dead set on Jane being her heiress. There’s assassination attempts, as is expected of the heiress and empress, but when she finally has Jane in her proximity she forces her to her side and promises her a planet. And when she dies, Condy gets super pissed and kills Aranea in a fit of rage. Considering Jade was also alive, this could have been rage at hard work being wasted. Or maybe the loss of an heiress who she wouldn’t feel the need to kill, which I think the idea of interested HIC the same way it interested Meenah

We don’t properly see the ancestors aside from condy, so anything else would really be speculative or headcanons, but there’s definitely a basis for what I’m saying here. The dancestors and the ancestors are the same people the way the alpha guardians and the beta kids are. There’s different bits due to their environments, and they may be twisted and their logic may be warped. But at the end of the day it’s still them

It's not even about the humiliation. You can deal with humiliation. You have been for the past however long you've been under that man’s thumb. 

This is not humiliation. This is not an insult to your dignity for the amusement of the audience. No matter how much they laugh or how the stage lights swerve too make sure everyone can see you in this moment. This is a deep, personal slight against you. 

You find him in the crowd. It's not hard. He sits higher than everyone else. Comfortable and casual in his miniature throne placed in the middle of the theater pews. The best seat in the house. He is not laughing but he is smiling so wide. 

You can already tell what he will say to you after curtain call; after you get cleaned up and changed and come back to his side. You did this to yourself. You asked for this. It is not his fault for giving you what you wanted.

You will be cleaning this out of your hair for a very, very long time. You will never get all of it. As the too warm to be fresh sensation runs down your back you feel it soak into your very bones. You can't clean your bones.

The two pillars that are still most active have been warped by all their experiences into their inverted classpects

Fectan is a Witch of Space but he's like dead now and space is a tricky aspect when you are dead and don't have a body to take up physical space. He's coping with this through trying to mold Hiyett into a new him (still very witchy kinda). With how he is guiding Hiyett and popping up only occasionally and using knowledge from past experiences/a future plan (his whole 'not yet' vibe) he's acting very Seer of Time.

The Heiloman is a Rogue of Hope but grief and loss and jealousy and also just being old have turned him into a paranoid and aggressive man. He puts up a front for his safety, he literally has a shield, and feels like he can't process his feelings alone so just buries them under violent zealot behavior and antagonizing enemies. Knight of Rage behavior.

Me: I need all the pillars to have a weird relationship so you two need to weird it up.

Heiloman and Necrnome: ...

Heiloman: what if I hated him in a way that could never be fixed? Hated him for who he was and for not being that anymore? What if it was mixed with pity because of the state he's in and that only caused me to hate him more? But the part of me that is young and small and desperate for his love still existed?

Necrnome: And what if that is the only part I can see? What if everything he's done and achieved was tainted by how I knew him as a boy? What if I was not in a state of mind nor body to return his ire in any real way but in times of lucidity I understood it and had no apologies to make? Because he became something glorious but still so small in the grand scheme.

Me: that'll work. Christ.

I'm giving the Heiloman so much shit (at least in my mind) and I forget that he's actually supposed to be likeable. I only got the soured bitchy old man version of him. But like he was such a beaut when he was younger.

Fectan deadass looking at The Necronom like "you will not be a mistake I made" /love is a choice

And HONESTLY if I'm big braining it right now that's the only way someone can love him.

Psychall chose to love that insufferable man and put in work to keep him. Fectan is doing it in a stubborn and spiteful way. Even the Heiloman with his topsy turvy feelings and insecurities stuck with it and dude it is HARD to pity a guy who has that much shit handled.

The real tea is that Fectan just prefers guys with deep voices (The Necronom (Geoff Castellucci) ) as opposed to higher pitched ones ( The Heiloman (Ayron Alexander) ).

Be me realizing stuff about my own ancestor titles.

In The Necronom, the 'nom' is supposed to pronounced like the ending of metronome. Because that's where the name was meant to come from Necro for dead things and the 'nome' of the metronome like a constant beat keeper that just keeps going. But Necronome is one letter to long so I dropped the e.

But even I constantly pronounce it in my mind just like 'nom'. Like nom nom eats you. And that is so silly sounding. But thats how I wrote it

I could change it to Necrnome and hope that the 'oh' part of nome carries enough weight that I don't have to put the o in Necro.

Or I could keep it Necronom. Like the short version of necronomicon the spooky book from H.P Lovecraft. Necronom is also a collection of paintings that inspired the Alien movie and have a crazy story of why the artist decided to paint them.

I just feel like 'nom' is to silly for someone that I want to be unsettling. ú-ù
