Track and Field
Track and field is a combination of running events on a track and field. Running events are 1600(mile),800,400,200, and lastly 100 meter events. Field events are long jump where you run forty meters and then you jump and try to land as far away from the beginning of the sand pit that you jumped into as possible. Then there is Javelin where you have a stick and there’s kind of an arrowy front and three kind-of propellers at the back and you throw it and want to throw as far as you can to get the best score. Lastly there is shot put where you have a six pound ball and you stand in a circle and rotate yourself while you push the ball into your neck then you launch the ball off your arm and try to have it hit the ground as far away as possible because they measure from where the dent in the ground is not from where it rolls too. Their is also an event called discus throwing where you throw a discus and it has to land in between a marked section and they have one and a half spins and then they release it and hope for the farthest length away. Now here is some background about track and field track is derived from the venue their which is a stadium with an oval track surrounding a grass field where the throwing and jumping events happen, this sport is one of the oldest sports starting with the ancient greeks and still continuing now. So if you are ever debating what event you want to compete in or where to go for this event just read over this and decide.
