Ellora Caves are one of the most magnificent rock temple complexes in the world, located in the Sahyadri hills near Aurangabad, Ellora, northern Maharashtra. The Ellora Caves are an impressive complex of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain cave temples, built between the 6th and 10th centuries AD. Ellora was built during Hindu dynasties such as the Rashtrakuta dynasty, which constructed part of the Hindu and Buddhist caves and the Yadava dynasty which constructed the Jain caves.
