WIP Wednesday
And 17 Seconds
Buddie WIP | Eddie Diaz Character Study | 6x10
“Do more!” Eddie yelled. He couldn’t help it – couldn’t keep quiet – couldn’t keep the fear from taking over his mouth. Because he was afraid – so afraid. He couldn’t remember a time where he was more afraid. Not when the helicopter went down – he had accepted his death, he’d just been regretful he’d never see Chris again. Not when he got shot in LA – he barely remembered it, and of what he did, he knew Buck was there, so there had been nothing to be afraid of. Not when Buck and Chris were caught in the tsunami – how can you be afraid of something you don’t know is happening? He was afraid when he moved to LA, but his fear was overpowered by his desperation for a fresh start and his hope. The only thing that came close was when he was trapped in a well. When he had been afraid he’d leave his son alone (since that had been before he given Chris to Buck). He was afraid now. Afraid that he would lose his partner. That his son would lose his Buck. Eddie put his arm around Chimney’s shoulders and pulled him close. He twisted his face, stemming the sobs that wanted to break free. He couldn’t keep his tears from falling. Bobby used his arm not hugging Hen to pull Eddie into his free side. Together, the four of them watched the mechanical doors to the ED close, Buck on the other side.
