I think if there's a reveal this season it would be interesting for it to be one sided Adrien again, and instead of the Chat Blanc immediately running to Marinette and declaring his love, he's kinda confused what to do for a little bit because of a change in dynamics. just a random thought I guess.

ohhh, that could be interesting! tbh i’ve long suspected we will get at least one more chat blanc or oblivio type reveal that gets reversed, because if i was writing the show, i’d want to milk every possibility out of the secret identity stuff before the permanent reveal.

i suspect we will get to see marinette finding out first because of that, but you’re right that adrien finding out first would look very different now than it did in season 3, so that could be an interesting possibility too!

i am pretty sure the actual reveal won’t be in season 4, unless it’s at the very end of the finale, but a temporary reveal? i fully expect the writers to explore every possibility, and adrien finding out in the midst of all this tension would fit!

can we have some more hc’s about kev and devlin’s relationship? does he get better at being a dad as devlin gets older or is it always a bit weird?

I would like to first tag @emperorsfoot foot because their fanfictions and headcanons deeply inspired mine and sparked my interest in the family dynamics with devlin, gwen and kevin.

so in my hc kevin never wanted to be a parent. finding out gwen was pregnant was a cause of concern to him not only because of him feeling unfit to take care of a literal child but also because the thought of that child becoming addicted to energy and unstable like he was, was troubling.

devlin osmosian powers manifested while he was still in the womb, feeding off gwen’s energy. It did not kill her due to his tiny size and the fact that gwen is a being made of pure mana, but it definitely made the last couple of months of her pregnancy way harder scaring both kevin and herself. the energy absorption issues didn’t stop after being born, just like babies try to put anything in their reach inside their mouth, devlin would try to absorb the life energy of any living thing close enough for him to hold, which included his parents. this made it incredibly hard for gwen to feed him, hold him or even comfort him without special gear (alien technology goes brr). kevin on the other hand was able to hold him without an issue but unlike gwen, he didn’t enjoy being close to his son.

kevin was distant and had trouble bonding with devlin. his constant fears and projections towards his son made him act detached and cold when dealing with him. as devlin grew older (toddler age) kevin became harsher and more strict, specially if devlin attempted to absorb energy behind his back. being loving or encouraging towards his son was also a challenge since he had no idea how to express that properly. all things combined quickly made him “the mean parent” in devlin’s eyes, who became very attached to gwen and would try to avoid his dad as much as he could.

At five years old Devlin’s issues with absorbing other people’s life force finally stopped but his relationship with his dad didn’t improve much for the next three years due to his previous experiences with him. They would argue and yell to the point of devlin having a meltdown and gwen would constantly have to tell kevin off or take devlin somewhere else to calm him down. this doesn’t mean that they never got along when devlin was little but the bad interactions outnumbered the good ones. kevin would occasionally read devlin to sleep, distract him when Gwen wasn’t home, let him pretend to drive his car and take him on rides around the city when devlin was bored.

I would say their relationship starts getting much better when devlin is close to ten years old. that’d be when kevin finally realizes his kid is nothing like he used to be and probably will never be the way he feared he would turn out to be. he realizes he royally screwed up on many parts of his son’s life and starts atoning for it by being more emotionally present for him.

Sorry for ranting i thought it would be important to give enough context but i may have shared more than necessary. anyways here are some points of things kevin and devlin do together around the time their relationship starts improving:

kevin teaches devlin him how to drive a car and use a couple of alien weapons even though he’s ten just in case of an emergency.

since they are both into tech devlin helps kevin with whatever his working on (ships, his car, fixing some alien tech, etc) and he is an incredibly fast learner when it comes to it

devlin teaches kevin the wonders of open world roleplaying games since the only videogame his dad seems to have touched is sumo slammers which devlin doesn’t play

kevin finally learns from gwen how to style devlin’s hair the way he likes it and also how to dye it in case he ever wants to

the day devlin tells him some kids are bullying him at school kevin figures out where they live to trash their house and gives devlin permission to scare them with his osmosian form

When we can’t, won’t or shouldn’t speak to one another while out in public, especially if we’re not wearing a mask, what would you call that if not cold?

If you try to speak a kind word to someone in public nowadays, they give you a weird look and quickly turn and walk away. #cold

Also, if this current tone in society is setting some sort of new norm for how people treat one another -- I mean, the “friendly neighbor” thing already faded back in the sixties -- but this...this could quite possibly make us more inclined to be defensive and hostile to one another on a general basis. #colder

If from now on we adopt this perception of everyone is a threat -- and if they speak to you within a twelve foot radius they could kill you, that sounds pretty biblical to me. #coldest

If this global crisis sets the tone, creating this thought in the back of our minds that never really goes away, like everyone you see and interact with and even everyone you know could possibly make you sick or make you die, and masks and social distancing are integrated into everyday life (the way the internet was) six months, a year, longer...that’s entirely a big sign of the times that we need to pay attention to. BEING WOKE IS A FULL TIME JOB.
