I have issues controlling myself when it comes to posting new #Rizzles #fanfiction stories, BUT I'm also a very competitive person. So, I've given myself challenges, and I'm totally posting them here to attempt to keep myself accountable. 😆

I mean, I should hope so
Hey! I wrote a thing. Hope you enjoy! Inspired by this post.
When Ginny asked Luna to go with her to a tattoo shop, she thought it would not be a problem. Luna didn’t realize how much this one visit would stress her out.

A/N I’m not sure I can do a whole month where I crank out a fic every day. So I think I’m just throwing one out. It fits the prompt hand holding. Technically, for the Sapphic September 2018 fest by @golden-queen-writes (as I understand it)
Hi! I just saw this post of yours and I don’t know if you still look for information from international readers but I’m hungarian and I can write a little about our sites. So we have 2 archives, one is called Merengő, it used to be a Harry Potter fanfic archive but now it’s multifandom. You can also share your original work, not just fanfic (there are 8000+ fanfics and 5000+ works in the original category). The main fandom is still Harry Potter with 7000+ works. Twilight, Supernatural, Teen Wolf and j/k-pop/rock fandoms are also popular but these only have a few hundred works. The other archive is called Anime fanfiction Style, it’s for anime and manga fandoms but you can find a few other kind of fanfics there, too (probably from writers who had an account there and didn’t want to register anywhere else just for this 1-2 non-anime/manga fics). This site is down at the moment so I can’t help with data. It’s been down for months now, we don’t know what will happen with it but it was quite popular I’d say. (They should have moved to an other host but the admins don’t have the time and resources for it, if I see the situation right.) Both of these sites are similar to AO3, fans came up with the idea, funs run them, and they are non-profit as far as I know. The only difference on Merengő is that an admin have to approve your work before it can be posted. An admin checks your grammar and if you have too much mistakes, they send you an e-mail to fix them and only then will they approve your work. Also, you can’t upload PWPs. My guess is that it’s because it used to be a HP site and JK Rowling don’t like smutty fics? IDK. I don’t know how this works on the other site, I was only a reader there. Blogs are VERY popular here. Many writers have both an acc on Merengő and a blog. Some only have blogs. Blogger is the most popular (here’s my blog as an example). These blogs are similar to tumblr, you can change their look and others can subscribe (you can’t reblog though). The second most popular is blog.hu.
I’ve seen hungarian fics on both ff.net and on AO3. I think ff.net is more popular than AO3 but I’m not sure about this. There are very few hungarian fics on both. Wattpad is getting more and more popular. My experience is that younger people prefer Wattpad over Merengő. I only upload a few of my fics there then leave a link to my blog saying you can find more of my stuff there. I also have an AO3 account but literally NO ONE reads my fics there. My friend only posts her fics on AO3 and promote them in facebook groups so she get way more kudos/reviews than me on AO3 but 16-17 kudos out of 20 are from guests, so the majority of her readers don’t have an AO3 account.
If AO3 were more popular, I’d post my fics only there but unfortunately I have to post them on like 4 sites (my blog, a few on Merengő, a few on Wattpad, and some on AO3) if I want to reach out to everyone. My blog is the most popular though, second is my Merengő account, next is Wattpad and AO3 is the last.
I know people who started writing in english, they closed their blogs and Merengő accs and now they post their works on AO3. Once my english is good enough, I’ll do the same.
I hope it was useful eventhought you wrote that post like 2 years ago.
Toasty’s note: Yes, this was useful -- and fascinating! Thank you so much for sharing, @all-about-turquoise! I encourage other readers to share their own experiences with fandom archives/platforms around the globe... it would be lovely to learn more about where/how online fandom gathers in different cultures. :)
God...I’m fucking old...I still remember mailing list and “shipping website affiliates” (like with the banner links), and when doujins were scanned, translated, and seperated onto varios fansites.
I have been stricken with Handa Disease. This is terrible.
So, uh... maybe I won't be writing a drabble today. Anyone in the mood to write one for me? Of any sort? Because this
is the sort of real-life day I'm having (with more or less the same context as Prince Hal there) and what is fic if not a place you can change things when you can't change anything else?
So that is Audrey, begging, angsting, and generally being self-centered. Drabbles, anyone? Any subject, any length? It makes her shut up and get back to Lokane smut and Darcy/Thor broshipping.
Haha, okay seriously you guys, where are you hiding the rest of the dwori???
well, rehearsal was fun!
and now I have to work on a second draft of a paper
