CW: Choking, fawn response
"Silly mouse! You had me worried sick!"
Mickey left for just a few minutes. Less than five. Yet his 'big brother' had freaked out in that short amount of time. As if the mouse would never return.
Now, the older rabbit was hugging him so tight he couldn't breathe.
He couldn't breathe.
The rabbit was practically choking him.
"I was worried Gus was leading you away to get hurt! I can't let that happen! What kind of friend would I be? Let alone brother!" Oswald tightened his hug, unaware that Mickey was turning slightly purple.
Mickey clung to Oswald's arm, feeling his neck start to bruise as Oswald hugged him tighter and tighter, going on and on about how scared he was of losing the one good thing he had left. That he couldn't let the mouse out of his sight like that again.
'Would he snap my neck of I tried running?'
Mickey's vision was going to go black. He could barely hear Gus screaming at Oswald to let him go, followed with Oswald telling Gus to go to hell and die.
"Oswald stop! Please! You're hurting him!"
"No I'm not! Fuck off!"
"Let him go! He can't breathe!"
"He's fine! And why should I let him go?! So you can miss with his head again?! Hell no!"
"For the love of god!"
If Oswald didn't let go soon...
Mickey swallowed thickly, letting his knees buckle and fall. His body collided into Oswald, both arms wrapping around the rabbit. He began crying pathetically.
"I'm sorry!" Mickey cried, his voice a shrill whine as he sobbed. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to be gone that long! P-Please don't be mad! I promise I won't go far again!" He whimpered, putting on a helpless act to appease the rabbit. No longer fighting. He clung to Oswald, saying whatever would make the rabbit calm down so he'd just let go.
And he did.
Oswald gave Mickey a proper hug, holding him close with his own tears welling in his eyes. "Hey, it's alright. I'm sorry too. Didn't mean to scare you."
Mickey didn't say much, only gasping for air desperately while trying to be subtle and not show how shaken he was from Oswald's hold. He didn't want to cause another spiral from his older brother.
'I'll have bruises...'
When Oswald finally let go properly, he took Mickey's hand. "Come on, let's get going. You wanted to collect more pins, right? I know where a couple are."
Mickey let Oswald lead the way. For now, he'd do what the rabbit wanted.
Much to his dismay and much to Gus' horror.
