Bellamy and Clarke have been promised to each other since they were children. While they didn’t always get along, they fall in love when Bellamy’s kingdom falls under attack from the Ice Nation. To save his people as terms of a treaty, Bellamy finds himself promised to the Heir to the Ice Nation: Echo.

Cue the angst: it’s an open secret that Bellamy and Clarke are in love but Bellamy finds himself in the heart of enemy territory pining after the princess he left behind. There’s an attack while they’re travelling to the Ice Nation capital and Echo and Bellamy are the only survivors. Staggering through the woods, they come to an agreement: they will do whatever it takes to bring the Ice Nation under their control for the good of both their people.
