It’s time for a good old fashioned summer reading challenge and what could be a better excuse to share our love for all the wonderful fanworks in the Benoit Blanc Mysteries fandom?
This activity aims to lift up the wonderful creators in the Benoit Blanc Mysteries Universe and build community by challenging participants to seek out fanworks of all kinds and leave comments that recognize their work. We also hope that it might make commenting feel less intimidating to anyone who might find it to be so. So, come on in—the water’s fine!

🎲 Getting your bingo sheet 🎲
There are 85 cards total broken up into six categories: Wild Card, Knives Out, Glass Onion, Wake Up Dead Man, NSFW, and Angst.
The Wild cards (Cards 1-15) include general prompts, prompts specific to any of the three films, and some mild mature/angst prompts.
The Knives Out cards (Cards 16-30) include general prompts and prompts specific to Knives Out. You may or may not get one prompt to check out something from another film!
The Glass Onion cards (Cards 31-45) include general prompts and prompts specific to Glass Onion. You may or may not get one prompt to check out something from another film!
The Wake Up Dead Man cards (Cards 46-65) include general prompts and prompts specific to WUDM. You may or may not get one prompt to check out something from another film!
The NSFW cards (Cards 66-75) include general prompts and NSFW prompts, not exclusively NSFW prompts.
The Angst cards (Cards 76-85) include general prompts and Angst prompts, not exclusively Angst prompts.
Getting your bingo card:
Use a random number generator and roll for a number (either 1-85 if you want to get wild, or you can specify the listed ranges if you want a card from a specific category).
Open the bingo sheet google drive folder and select the card corresponding to the number you rolled.
✍️ Filling out your bingo sheet ✍️
Each box on the bingo sheet is a prompt for either a type of work you should leave a comment on (i.e. “fic with <1000 words”), or a type of comment (“ask a question”). When you’ve completed the prompt, cross out the box.
One comment fulfills one box. So, if you leave a comment asking a question on a “fic with <1000 words,” this comment can count for either “ask a question" OR ”<1000 words,“ but NOT both.
A “comment” to fulfill a bingo box can be: A comment on AO3 or a reblog on tumblr with a comment in the tags or text box (for fic/art posted to tumblr). There is no length requirement on a comment—even something as simple as “love this!” counts as a fill.

You are encouraged to make posts that share recs and fanworks as you work on your bingo sheet. If you get a “bingo” (5 boxes on the bingo sheet in a row) or “blackout” (all the boxes filled), you can make a post showing us! If you @ us, we’ll reblog the evidence of your amazing success. We’d love to see the titles or links to the fics and fanworks you commented on!

while its very silly to me to no-homo judblanc just bc of the movie's quirky tone or the made up societal rules that they have to follow i discovered while writing them that them being Special Friends that never fully act on whatever mutual attraction or queer recognition might be there feels just as potent as them doing it sloppy style bc jud highkey believes his thought crimes are just as real as if he acted on them and blanc is able to derive pleasure from doing detectively acts of service while walking around like an open wound so whatever they had going on lasting for (at least) a year is already akin to gay sex to me
big fan of when a character metaphorically sweeps something under the rug, but you can feel them flinch every time they walk over it and feel the crumbs beneath their feet
"I'm lying to you but this sentence is technically the truth without context" is such a good trope. Like yes the way that I am spinning these words forms a lie but if you squint I'm actually not lying.

also not this fandom-specific but people who are more passive in fandoms love to make posts like "i wish people cared about x character or y relationship instead" and im like hey guess what i am also a sucker for a rarepair im just driven by spite and love in equal measures so by the time im done with them theyre not a rarepair anymore because instead of complaining i start writing poetry about the situation. change begins with you 🫵
whenever i see the "ugh everyone jumped onto judblanc" take im like lol i wish i wouldn't have made it my full time job if that was the case i would've just sat back and passively enjoyed it the way i do with yaoi that's actually popular
