UHHH Lemme see here... Well, she was going to join the military, since her Older Sister was supposed to be the houses' scion. She was good at fighting and genuinely excited for the potential to fight alongside her big sister one day. She's kept up weapons training in her spare time and is a crack shot even outside the Knight.

Her scars were from one of her first engagements piloting the knight, where novice and brash Ostia didn't angle her Ion shields correctly and took a barrage to the cockpit in order to deal a telling blow to her opponent. This was also the engagement that took her legs, as the crumpled metal shell of the damaged cockpit had to be cut away to free her from the wreckage. She did complete the mission, though, and kept going through the hit. She earned a reputation for working through just about anything and prides herself on her endurance.

The non-human formed legs were picked because, in Ostias mind, being a scion is being a weapon. You and your knight are one and the same, and once you master the throne there isn't any going back to the life you once knew. The weird feet are a way of permanently denying herself the future she wanted, and serve as a reminder that she is stuck in this life forever.

She used to ballroom dance when young as a hobby (not since the accident).

She can and does crush things with her foot claws for betting purposes and loves a good game of cards. (So far she's rocking quite the pile of winnings, the local guard contingent is nearly bankrupt but keep coming to the Knight campfire because of the liquor and good times.)
