Ok so recently kpdh just came out, and there was this released concept art about rumi’s parents, and I have so many questions/ just thoughts so I’m letting them out here. First off, with the way that rumi’s dad is looking at her mom, it is clear that he care about her ( I mean look at that smile and the softness in his eyes) so I wonder how in the world did rumi’s mom fall for him. She was a demon hunter so it makes no sense. It shows that rumi was born with her patterns, so they didn’t start out as shame, though I’m guessing they just expand faster with her shame as she got older? And she has naturally born purple hair, which is already known from the flashbacks but it is just a nice detail. Also I wonder what happened to her dad, since it was clear he wasn’t there after her mom died, but I wonder why and what happened and when gwi-ma found out ( because I know he would probably eventually would). The entire mystery of rumi’s parents wasn’t really touched in the movie like at all, so I have so many questions, and this picture posed a whole lot more than it gave us answered to(what rumi’s dad looked like and if they actually both loved each other). I really want to see more about rumi’s, and just the other girls, past since there is so much to be explored. Side note, rumi’s mom was probably finding it hilarious that her daughter was falling for a demon just like her, and one that looked similar as rumi’s father at that.

my theory on why Drew bullies TMC

I think there’s an amalgamation of reasons that motivate Drew to bully the music club, rather than one straightforward explanation.

However, one of the biggest ones seems like plain old jealousy

Drew is clearly very privileged when it comes to money, and his parents are rich. Based on Drew’s inclination to spend money on people to show affection, it’s fair to assume that was how his parents showed affection to him. Really, that’s his only love language. His ability to express vulnerability is really stunted, and gift-giving seems like the only one he’s familiar with (which also doesn’t make him seem to vulnerable) . MY theory, and one that is pretty wide-spread across the tmf fandom, is that Drew’s parents were absent a lot of the time during Drew’s childhood (likely for work reasons), and they tried to make up for it by indulging in him. Money, gifts, toys; whatever he liked. But because of that absence, he hadn’t experienced your typical ‘family’ dynamic. Assuming also that he’s an only child, he didn’t have anyone around him. He grew up in isolation, and sought out validation at school to make up for it.

Drew’s always had to give something to make friends, form connections. We can see that in a lot of his relationships—in one way or another, they’re transactional: Drew gives money, protection, popularity. Usually, he gets whatever he wants whenever he wants (which probs built up a LOT of his entitlement), but a family is the one thing he lacks.

Imagine this: you think you’re AWESOME. like. Super awesome. You’re rich, and cool, you have all the new stuff everybody wants and people fawn over you religiously for it. The one thing you don’t have is that feeling of family. And then you see this group of total randoms who already seem all weird and geeky. They’re poor, they definitely don’t have the latest iPhone, but for some reason they’re the closest friends in the world. Without offering anything. They’re so happy, like each other’s family. The one thing you don’t have, but they do. Not even by blood, which would be irksome enough—they found each other by pure luck and came to trust each other as if they were kin out of sheer affection towards one another. No money involved.

I think a lot of what Drew does comes from a deep desire for family. For actual, human connection. So to see the music club have that without giving or doing anything, almost like it fell into their laps, was probably a source of resentment for him, even if subconscious.

Technically speaking, wasn’t he better than all of them? Drew doesn’t just dislike the club, he actively looks down on them (which we see also in the drakeup—Drew’s reaction is so strong not just because Jake betrayed him, but because he was betrayed for the club).

So then you have this conceived injustice too—not only was it annoying, it was unfair. Undeserving. For them to just skip around all day happy and jolly without putting in the effort, while Drew was a straight A student in honours classes with more money than his whole class combined and he could barely get an ounce of that camaraderie.

Obviously this is a very skewered lens of thinking, that sees people’s value in relation to their academic prowess and wealth (which both relate to how much money you can bring into the economy, funnily enough); The music club don’t need to be rich for them to be worthy of each others friendship. What connects them isn’t money, or popularity, but kindness and a passion—and respect—for the arts. Drew doesn’t understand this simple concept because all his life, he’s only ever known a love told through items and absence. I don’t think it’s a mindset that’s very overt in Drew, or even one he’d be aware of. Rather, it’s subtle, subconscious.

This also brings into question what Drew’s family dynamics were like, because who knows—maybe that reflects in his choice to bully the club. By treating Hailey and Zander (plus the rest of tmc) as lesser and himself as superior, he’s creating a hierarchy, one that highlights him as ‘better’. Technically, grades could be treated as a competition, but outside of that there is no need for competitiveness. Yet Drew created a social hierarchy that positioned himself at the top, and the music ‘freaks’ at the bottom.

Sonic Boom! Agent Stone AU (pt.1)

(This is kind of an outline thing for the fic I plan on writing in the future btw!!)

Chapter 1 posted!

•On one random Tuesday, a coffee shop named "The Mean Bean" appeared in the middle of town, with no construction and no posters for the place, as if it fell from the sky.

•It probably did since it's sonic boom and all.

•Sonic and friends had different opinions on the place, but all of them went in anyway.

•Sonic thought he wasn't really a coffee guy but it wouldn't hurt to try something new.

•Amy admired how beautiful and modern the place looked, unlike the rest of the establishments in their formerly unnamed village.

•Tails questioned how they had managed to construct a cafe that quickly without anyone noticing.

•Knuckles wondered why this bean shop smelled like coffee.

•Sticks, however...had her theories.

•Upon laying her eyes on the establishment, she started coming up with 50 theories per second; her friends dismissed her to get the plot going.

•Sticks's suspicions didn't subside one bit once entered the shop and made eye contact with a grinning barista with the name tag "Stone"

•What really got Sticks paranoid is how nice and friendly the barista was, and how he was the only person working there.

•Stone served them and said their orders were "on the house"

•Sticks refused to order anything, claiming it was a trap and the food had microchips in it to read the villager's thoughts and know the village's most crucial secrets.

•Right in the middle of Stick's yap session, Eggman initiated a very well-timed attack.

•Cut to Shoujo vision-eyed Stone laying his eyes for the very first time on the village's one and only villain (or the only one that matters)

•He quickly snapped out of it, adjusted his clothes, and cleared his throat, then walked out of his coffee shop to greet the villain.

•He had politely asked Eggman to take the fight somewhere further away from his coffee shop and Eggman surprisingly obliged (not without blowing up in Stone's face ofc) (Stone didn't look like he minded) (He actually looked even more love-struck) (weirdo)

•The fight ended, and the gang went back to the coffee shop, where Stone inquired about the evil doctor who almost blew up his shop.

•That was Stick's last straw; she started screaming about how Stone was a government agent who would doom the entire village if they didn't stop him.

•She ran out screaming when her friends still didn't believe her.

•Girl, get better friends.

•She figured that if she was going to foil the evil government agent's plans she needed someone else helping her, another pair of eyes to look out for the village if the government agent decided that she was an obstacle in his way and kidnaps her to a work in a secret underground trees-that-are- actually-spy-cameras-factory.

•And that's when she found Shadow in a cave that he definitely doesn't live in.

•He reluctantly agreed to help her because he was also suspicious about that guy, not that he cared about the village but he didn't like being oblivious about evil happening on his turf.

•He didn't believe stick's microchipped food theory, but Stone being a government agent didn't seem too far off for him...

•They both had their separate attempts at getting answers out of Stone.

•First was Sticks, she set up a trap.

•ofc Stone fell for it because how else would the story progress.

•She interrogated him as he was upside down hanging from a tree outside her home.

•He denied all claims and feigned innocence, claiming he was just a barista that came from far far away to simply serve people happiness in the form of coffee.

•She opted for more efficient interrogation techniques, she turned around and entered her home to..grab a feather and tickle him idfk

•Once she returned outside she saw the net was burnt to crisp and the human was nowhere to be found.

•Now she's sure she's not paranoid.

•She reported her findings to Shadow.

•Now it was Shadow's turn, seeing how Stone definitely had some special equipment/weapons on him the idea of there being microchips in the food didn't seem too uncanny.

•Shadow showed up to The Mean Bean, Sticks intently staring at him from behind the glass doors (creeping everyone in the shop out)

•Shadow thought he shouldn't interrogate him as that would end up as fruitful as Stick's efforts.

•Instead he chose to just behave as a normal customer, he was the ultimate life form after all, if there was something odd about the food then he'd know (I'm pulling this shit outta my ass okay)

•Just like the badger had described him "Very sweet with an evil aura", and something about trees.

•Stone felt somewhat nervous/awkward towards the hedgehog, so far all his customers were either stupid or friendly excluding the badger that kidnapped him because she wasn't a customer at all)

•The Hedgehog chose a cat muffin, glaring at stone the entire time.

•That was the best goddamn muffin he has ever had in his life.

•He slammed the money on the counter and returned back to a very distraught badger.

•"ARE YOU OKAY?! ARE THE RADIATIONS GETTING TO YOUR BRAIN?! ARE YOU BRAINWASHED?! DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR TRAGIC BACKSTORY?! DID THE MUFFIN DO SOMETHING TO YOU?!"

One thing I don’t understand in the latest episode is why the name of that mysterious folder is in Russian while literally every document inside it is in English.

Wouldn’t it have made more sense to just give it some inconspicuous name in English if they wanted to hide it in plain sight?

And besides, we literally saw that there’s a Soviet guy doing the same job as Alex, surely a strange folder named “automation” in Russian would have drawn his attention? I don’t believe he wouldn’t have stumbled upon it at least once, it’s not like they tried particularly hard to hide it.
