So we finally did it! Meet Apollo, our new lord and master rescue cat! As you can see, he’s basically perfect in every way. Look at those big orange eyes! His long kinked tail! His little face splotch!

He’d already been adopted and returned once, and I can’t imagine why - he’s the sweetest and friendliest cat, and he’s already made himself totally at home.

I really thought we were gonna come home with a little black cat, but, surprisingly, all the ones I had my eye on had already been adopted by the time we got to the shelter. Instead we got this enormous gorgeous boy, and I couldn’t be happier. He’s everything I love in a cat - friendly, curious, vocal, and smarter than he has any right to be. Within ten minutes of being home he had broken into the closet where he saw us put the treats, and he was starting to respond to his new name within the hour. He’s also already trained us to give him fresh water in a cup, so I suspect he knows we’re suckers.

So far, none of the problems that his previous owners returned him for have manifested, so I’m hoping this house is just a better fit for him. The amazing folks at the ACCT Philly shelter were glad to see him come home with us, and I suspect he was a staff favourite. I’m just so glad to finally be living with a cat again, and we couldn’t have picked a better one.

Had a rough day at work so I took my gay ass, my S/O's gay ass, went on a gay ass dinner date, got some gay ass ice cream, and bought myself some SUPER GAY yarn. I feel a little better.
