they're not my favorite characters but i didn't have much of a problem with them
Ok, I have anti tags for them if you want to see more in depth discussions (I'll be tagging this post with them) but here's a summary
Will:
Calls Tessa a whore and iirc (correct me if I'm wrong) disrespects her supposed inability to have children
That whole scene when he used yin fen was incredibly disrespectful to Jem (and didn't he say something really mean about Jem's dead parents too? I'm 90% sure he did but I don't remember what specifically)
Publicly humiliated Tatiana when they were little and yes, he thought he was cursed, but that doesn't explain why he broke Gabriel's arm later in a violent tantrum.
I haven't read TID in a while so I don't remember anything more specific than that.
James: here's a post I made about him. I'm not anti him btw but those things bother me a lot sooo.
Matthew:
Mocked Alastair's hair (read: mocked a brown man's dark features)
First reaction to hearing that Elias might be an absent father was to basically say that Alastair deserved it (“If I was his father I wouldn't want a son like that either” or something like that)
CC has confirmed that he will make a move on Cordelia in Paris when he knows very well that she's in a very vulnerable place right now.
Overheard the conversation the Carstairs siblings had after Elias died on purpose and saw that as an opportunity to burden Cordelia with his own trauma for some reason.
Speaking of his trauma, of course he's not guilty of his mother's miscarriage but people tend to forget he was trying to DRUG HER. Only because he didn't know it was poison doesn't change his initial goal there.
Told Cordelia that Kamala and Anna were lovers when Kamala is very clearly in the closet, therefore putting her in a dangerous position as a lesbian woman of color with unsupportive parents.
Also told Cordelia about the rumor about Eugenia and Augustus, knowing very well that that destroyed Genie's reputation so badly that she had to move to a different country out of shame. It doesn't matter that Cordelia is his friend, he still spread that rumor.
Manipulated Alastair into talking to Charles at the end of CHOI. Alastair said he was uncomfortable with that ("We're not in good terms" or whatever) and Matthew blackmailed him into doing so. “Your sister believes you're a good person, do you want to make her into a liar?” etc etc, welcome to Manipulation 101
Exploded the Academy, remember!? Hey!! People lived and studied there and he exploded it because he wanted mommy to come pick him up? I wouldn't normally be this upset about that but the fandom literally plays that as a joke???
Alright, Matthew's part ended up being way longer than I expected, probably because TLH is still fresh in my memory ajdjdjdj
