Maybe it’s because I’m used to so much worse endings for queer characters but I didn’t mind this one. We didn’t get what we wanted, or what the show was leading up to but at least we got more than nothing
Ah yes my favourite genre of tv show a bunch of neurodivergent queer people fuck things up and cause chaos but in the end work together to save lives
what is it with writers no longer capable of writing finales that actually narratively make sense and emotionally payoff well
Planning out a monster of an AU that tries to elaborately make a reason for Billy and Eddie to be alive, and has them, Max and Will are stuck in a lab being tested, while the plot of the show stays mostly the same (until season 5) but I'm stuck between wanting to tell people and not wanting to give plot away because I'm so in love with this AU.
Teenager Thoughts
I’m not asking why per se, I’d just like to point out that teenagers are actually quite ugly. Like, that’s part of what we sign up for. Adolescence is this crazy phenomena where you’re not who you’re supposed to be yet, and you’re not who you were yet either, so you’re trapped in between being nothing as you try to find yourself. The point is that you’re not your final form yet. We have dumb glasses and say stupid things and cry and worry and break rules and live by them sometimes too, and have crazy hair and a ton of pimples and weirdly sized bodies as things catch up, and watch your mental health go off the deep and and find it again, and we have no idea about anything but we think we know everything. Which isn’t as fun, I know. But my point is that no teenager is a radiant sex symbol. No teenager has everything figured out or looks any way that anybody on the outside would think “wow what a Casanova”. It’s the chrysalis of life. I sometimes wish we could let it be that in fandom, too.
i love it when a piece of media inspires me so much i create my own stories and art around it, like it’s really a testament to the expansive and immersive universes people have in their minds!!
or it’s because the creators fuck something up SO badly i feel the need to take it upon myself to fix… (i’m looking directly at you Duffer Brothers)
