i love ari so much my heart is cracking
Knock it off. My mom's been crying, and now you're crying-and even Dad looks like he wants to cry. Rules. I have rules. No crying.
Aristotle (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Saenz)
You know how they say there's a book out there FOR everyone? As in, a book that's almost tailored for you? I used to think that was bullshit. I mean, dont get me wrong, I've read AMAZING books but I've always find that I couldn't find me in those books.
Until I stumbled upon Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. It's a book about queer kids, the main characters are half mexican half american kids who deal with their heritage and finding their place in the Mexican community while living in America. ANd it's about a kid who doesn't think he'll ever be happy, but he's ok with that. And the characters POC and they show their struggles AND they're dealing with being young and in love and lost. ANDDDDD dealing with their families and loss and rules and growing up.
I dunno, I just think this book was written FOR me y'know? I mean, I'm only in like chapter 15 (they're very short chapters) and I have already cried once and it makes me feel things.
