DISCUSSION: The Con Wars

From small events with humble beginnings as little more than organized fan meet-ups to large events featuring corporate sponsorships, celebrity appearances and dealers rooms that seem to go on as far as the eye can see, science fiction conventions have come a long way over the years. And as all things geeky become more mainstream, they’ve also become potentially very profitable and begun to proliferate. This is your chance to discuss how that proliferation and profiteering affects fandom as a whole, as well as what you think the future of sci-fi conventions might be.

Now that the space shuttle program has officially ended, what should the next steps be for NASA? What are they currently working on and what areas should they look toward in the future? How might NASA continue to generate interest and value in the space program and in the work that they do?
