His plan in Under Wraps is sooo fucked and then what he did to Varian. I hate him so much.

New Fic Idea
Got a new fic idea last night that won't leave me alone.
Basically, what if Andrew switched his goal from 'steal the journal of Herz Der Sonne', to kidnaps the Captain's seemingly naive daughter who he's been exchanging letters with so he plans an ambush.
I feel like if the Stabbingtons could think to use her as a bargaining chip, the Separatists could to.
Cass realising she practically tended this trap for herself by making herself into a target.
Captain trying to balance his duties as Captain and as a father once Andrew's demands do arrive.
Rapunzel arguing with Frederic because 'the good of the kingdom' and 'what about Cass?'
Eugene putting that 'no guy messes with Cass but me' from the episode to the test as he gets into an even more dangerous rescue.
I have a lot of ideas whirling around my brain right now XD
(ignore the bad art, just wanted to put this idea to paper while I let the story simmer in my mind)
Thoughts on Andrew?
>:3 I have. So many.
I love Andrew a lot, an unhealthy amount even. I think he’s a really great character with so much potential. I think tts utilized him pretty well, especially compared to all the other villains. He’s so compelling and interesting. I’ve rewatched his episodes too many times…
I wish they had gotten more into the history of Saporia and given Rapunzel some political conflict, and maybe talked about what the effects that the war and subsequent absorption of Saporia into Corona had on Saporia and their people. But I also understand it was a children’s show run by someone who didn’t actually care about the show he was making…so I’ll give them a pass, because I think what the fandom has done with this is amazing! (And I don’t trust Disney with that delicate of a topic tbh) Also, I love Dean Winters. He’s plays him so well, he really put his whole Deanussy into that performance. Everytime he’s on screen I want to vibrate out of my seat. His voice, man. I’m not normally that interested in characters who just suck, so I think it’s a testament to how good the acting, writing, and characterization is that I’m so invested in someone who was in two episodes. He’s a piece of shit, but he’s my piece of shit.
I think Andrew is a somewhat narcissistic, very manipulative, very goal oriented man. I think he has a lot of ambitions, with his main goal being retaking Saporia and ending Corona. The Separatists Of Saporia are an old political movement, stemming presumably right after the war. So I genuinely believe that Saporians were subjected to a lot of racism and harassment after the war. I don’t think they ever fully settled with Corona until hundreds of years later. And still then, there are plenty of purists and a lot of systemic racism in place against them; with many attempts to erase their culture and history.
So I think Andrew has a reason to be angry. He’s been mistreated, and he wants his land back, and for his people to feel safe and not go hungry. But the anger has been twisted into something rancid. It’s been twisted into a hatred of people who had nothing to do with the mistreatment of his people and homeland. It’s turned, also, into a desire for power. He doesn’t just hate the Coronan government, he hates Corona and it’s people. He believes only he is fit to rule. So I think he fell from an activist who wanted to do good and help his people, into a political extremist who wants to see Corona fall, and to see Coronans be treated as less than dirt. I think this mindset began early in his twenties, and took him over when he joined the Separatists.
I think he became the leader very quickly. I think he and Clementine are both sort of the masterminds behind the organization. Andrew is shown to be very charming. He knows how to play up a nice act, how to be sweet and likeable. And most importantly, he’s patient. He bides his time, playing the loving, poetic, and vegan free spirit part until he can get what he wants. And I think a part of this is true to how he is. I think he has the potential to be an amazingly kind and wonderful individual, akin to Rapunzel.
But he’s also ambitious. Nothing will get in the way of his goals. And if you do step in his way, he will not hesitate to eliminate the threat. Especially if the threat wronged him. He has no empathy for those he dislikes. And unfortunately, those goals are terrorism and genocide. And he’s also incredibly manipulative. With how patient he is, and how good he is at playing the part needed of him, of pretending to care; I think he’s terrifyingly good at getting people under him and trapping them, with no thoughts of escape until it’s too late. I think he can be very emotionally and mentally abusive. He craves power and doesn’t stand for people even slightly going against him, he doesn’t want them to get thoughts of betraying his movement. He would never hit someone, but he can expertly spin lies and hurtful words to make you weak, to break you, so he can mold you into whatever will fit his goals.
And the thing is- he genuinely, whole heartedly believes he is doing good. He thinks eliminating Coronans and creating a new nation for Saporians under this rule, is the right thing to do. And he doesn’t care about who or what gets involved, as long as they stay under his thumb, then they can accomplish the greater good. And if he needs to throw someone off the side of a ship for getting in the way? Well, traitors pay with their lives. It’s only fair….

🏳️🌈 Andrew? ( I'm sure not many people are interested in this, but I want to know your opinion)
I know Andrew has a lot of fans, but I am NOT one of them lmao
He seems like the type of guy who'd say he's bisexual, but actually has zero interest in dating or being with a man and is really just in it for the clout idk, I hate this guy sdkjfhdjsf
ch2 of my varian fanfic
Next thing Varian knows, they’re in a dim cell, the stone beneath their body freezing cold.
They take a moment to gain their bearings, before cautiously sitting up.
It attempts to get a feel of what their surroundings are, though a chain connected to their ankle prevents them from moving much.
“Hey, kid.” Varian hears a voice call to it, and they immediately are on edge, trying to find out who called out to them.
They hear a set of footsteps coming near them.
Varian freezes up, eyes wide.
“Hey, cool it, kid. I won’t hurt you.” The voice tells them, stepping out of the shadows.
Varian stares up at the man, the fourteen year old attempting to stop it’s trembling.
The man chuckles.
“I’m Andrew.” He tells Varian.
“...I-I’m Varian.” Varian replies awkwardly.
Andrew leans against the wall of the cell, staring at the alchemist. “So, what are you in for?”
