David had loaded up his .44 Magnum before he got out of his car. Tucked against his ankle was a tactical folding knife as well. All of this was part and parcel for self-defence especially now that he works alone, without the legitimacy of the police department. The knife and gun weren’t to be used as much as possible. It served to assure him that he had a form of back-up in the event that his security was threatened.
When he was well armoured, he got out of his car and tugged on his jacket to straighten it a little. David had already done his research: the primary locations his current target frequents. This time it was a local bar. Nothing too fancy. A place where people easily get accustomed to one another.
He had been hired to investigate on a murder. One which had been deemed by the police ‘unsolved’ and closed years ago. Somehow a person related to the victim could not move on, and managed to find David’s contact. And now here he was, with his services being put to good use.
He entered the pub, searched its surroundings before laying it on a familiar face. Coolly, he sauntered over to the table, gesturing to the bartender on the way to bring one round to their table. “Care if I join you?”
