tbh i think andy prieboy is an under appreciated goth icon
Mostly complete discography of the L.A. alt rock band Concrete Blonde, not including singles or "best of" collections.
Their best-known album is BLOODLETTING, with its Anne Rice-inspired title track, "Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)"; the morose ballad "Joey" (one of their few songs that got significant radio traction); and their cover of Andy Prieboy's AIDS crisis valedictory "Tomorrow, Wendy." Their best album is probably 1993's MEXICAN MOON, a return to form after the weird indulgence of WALKING IN LONDON (which sounds like an '80s Heart album), but their 1986 debut defined their sound, and in some ways they never topped it.
STILL IN HOLLYWOOD is not an album but a compilation of B-sides and non-album tracks, including their fiery cover of Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows" (from the soundtrack of PUMP UP THE VOLUME), and covers of songs by Jimmy Hendrix, Nick Cave, and Bob Dylan. It unfortunately doesn't include their song "Tomorrow's Gonna Be" (by Tom Boles and Mark Walton) from the soundtrack of a very obscure 1986 movie called ECHO PARK (which was credited under the name "Johnette," although Jim Mankey's guitar line is immediately recognizable), but it has some other gems, like Johnette Napolitano's implish road trip anthem "100 Games of Solitaire."

that wall sure can voodoo ‼️
PARABÉNS Bruce "Ravens" Moreland (born January 22, 1959) American rock musician and songwriter. He has worked with such bands as Wall of Voodoo (with his brother Marc Moreland), The Weirdos, Nervous Gender, and Concrete Blonde among othersWall of Voodoo was a New Wave band in The Eighties.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1977, the band had two line-ups: one with Stan Ridgway as singer, another with Andy Prieboy.
The band's earlier sound (less so on the later albums) could be described as Something Completely Different, not unlike Devo. But instead of electronic dance music, their style was "Ennio Morricone meets New Wave".
They made two original hits, "Mexican Radio" and "Far Side of Crazy".The first main line-up, with Stan Ridgway on vocals, also had Marc Moreland (guitar), Bruce Moreland (bass, synthesizer), Chas T. Gray (synthesizer, vocals), and Joe Nanini (percussion). The band also extensively used a drum machine to back them up on albums and in live performances, with Nanini usually adding fills on old pots and pans, cowbells, and various percussive toys.
This line-up (sans Bruce, who would return after the personnel change) would record the song, "Mexican Radio"In 1983, after a performance at the US Festival, Stan and Joe jumped ship. Stan would go on to make an impressive solo career for himself, with his latest album released in 2010.
He collaborated with Stewart Copeland on several occasions; e.g., the Rumble Fish soundtrack. After Ridgway's departure, Marc and Chas struggled to keep the band alive. Luckily, Andy Prieboy and drummer Ned Leukhardt joined up and the band released a new album, Seven Days in Sammystown, then two more, the last one being a live album. After the last LP, the band got dropped by the label.
Though most of the members faded into relative obscurity, Andy decided to continue. In 1990 he released "... Upon My Wicked Son", which consisted mostly of songs he wrote for WOV, with Ned on drums and Marc playing guitar on some of the tracks.
After that, Andy released two more albums (the latest in 2010) and wrote the musical White Trash Wins Lotto. He wrote an original hit, "Tomorrow Wendy".
Original drummer Joe Nanini passed away in 2000 of a brain hemorrhage
Bruce Moreland passed in 2002 after complications from a liver transplant. However, he managed to record his own solo record, "Take It To the Spotlight", shortly before that.
He was also the guitarist for the one-shots "Pretty and Twisted" and "Department of Crooks".Both Stan Ridgway and Andy Prieboy are still active, as of 2011. They performed together on Andy's song "Shine" (Stan was on harmonica).Bruce Moreland formed a new band, "Ravens Moreland", and has been releasing records since 2007.
Ravens Moreland is an American underground rock band created by Bruce Moreland in 1990. The band blended punk, post punk, and early industrial. Moreland also played bass for early LA punk band The Weirdos and helped form the iconic Post Punk group Wall Of Voodoo. Along with brother Marc Moreland, he was also the MC for the first LA punk club, The Masque punk club, where he went by the name Bruce Barf and often lit himself on fire while wrapped in duct tape.
He also played in LA art punk band Nervous Gender. In 1998 he switched from bass and keyboards to guitar and lead vocals. He wrote all the songs and played all instruments except drums on the first record, Lock up Your Mothers.
Ravens Moreland, current members include Linda LeSabre of Death Ride 69 and My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and Tara Belle Gilbert. Ravens Moreland has released six albums all released on Ravens records and available through CDBaby and iTunes.1Takashi Nagatoro
Wall of Voodoo - Far Side of Crazy
Woah, never saw this before! It’s Andy Prieboy-era Wall of Voodoo on some cheesy late-80s sitcom.
