Shinji was surprised that a gift had been sent to him by his father and was waiting for it to arrive. It was unusual of his father to send him anything and given there was still some time until his next birthday Shinji was curious about what this gift could be possibly be. A knock was heard at the door and from behind it a voice called out informing Shinji that his gift had arrived so Shinji stood and went to see what his new gift was .

Of course his father would go and start a war, then lose said war. Of course he would be ripped away from his family as punishment for this loss. Of course he would become some other prince’s slave. He sighed and waited as the door opened.

“Prince Shinji Ikari correct? I’m your ‘present’ so to speak. The war your father won, it was against my dad’s kingdom. I belong to you now.”

Eren was a few weeks out of the academy, on patrol with his older partner. Still learning the ropes, Eren was in a park just after it was technically closed to the public. The idea being prevent a crime in progress if at all possible.

He froze when he saw someone on the ground, as he got closer, it was obvious the male had been attacked. He radioed in and got the guy on a bus.

A few hours later Eren was in the room where the unconscious male was placed in. His eyes widened as the male began to stir. He got out his notebook. He wanted to get a statement.

“Hello, sir, I am officer Eren Yeager with the police department. Can you tell me your name?”

It had been a long exhausting day.  Eren found out his friends from the 104th had joined the scouts, and some new kid was with Hanji’s squad, also from the 104th. Eren recognized him. He believed his name was Shinji. He never stood out all that much.

He had cried himself to sleep learning that Marco died back in Trost. But that barely lasted an hour before the nightmares woke him. After he managed to stop crying he got up and wandered aimlessly.

The castle they used as a base, allegedly there from pre-wall times was huge. he had no clue where exactly he was, he just knew he would always find his way back to his room.

He stopped. What was that? Sinvviling? The others where probably still reeling from Trost, and unlike him and Mikasa, they hadn’t been dealing with these nightmares for years.....only maybe a few weeks.

He walked into the room. It was the new kid from Hanji’s squad, that Shinji kid from the 104th he never got to know. He hoped to assist him some how so he walked in.

“Shinji right? I know what you’re going through. Then nightmares suck. i wish i could say they get better, but unfortunately they never do. it also never gets any easier to deal with either. I wish I could tell you it did, but that would be a lie.”

Dear Journal,

In all honesty, I am not so sure that I can handle much more of Mikasa.

Don’t get me wrong, I love her dearly, but my sister is sort of smothering me with control. I know she just wants what is best for me, but I am more than old enough to know what is and is not good for me.

I just want her to back off sometimes, is that wrong?
