SORRY NOT SORRY 😂
I couldn’t get this out of my head, so have this bunch of messy sketches (honestly, there’s a serious lack of dbh/spn crossovers in this fandom lol)
Anyway, part 1! Part 2 coming soon ^^
Pigeon-like
// @deviantpigeon \\
Connor was flying around city. It slowly began to become his routine. He did it everyday.
He was flying past a building and he saw birds. Gray birds were looking at him very closely. He slowly flew closer to pigeon that was far away from the group of birds. He lightly landed and croched in front of pigeon.
Pigeon flew up and started flying around Connor. Angel laught and was turning around to see what the pigeon is doing.
Hope is the thing with feathers...

You’ve inspired me (˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵) @taylor-swifter-sweeper Also, @the-darklings @thedragonkween you guys may like this! This is not meant to be a continuation of Safe til morning light however. 🖤🖤🖤
Based off of the Emily Dickinson poem.
“Hope” is the thing with feathers...
He was warmth. Sunlight incarnate, and you were never cold. Not anymore. Always by your side, thankful for his presence. His warmth. A protector. A healer. A friend. He was there for you, especially when you couldn’t even be there for yourself. He helped you stand when you could barely crawl.
And you found yourself in love with him. In love with your guardian angel. It was unheard of. It was frowned upon. A mortal and their angel. No one knew of the love that you felt. Not even your angel. Not even Connor.
That perches in the soul.
His presence could touch your very being. He knew you without having to talk to you. But he still did. Quiet conversations between the two of you as rain pattered out side was two of your favorite sounds in one. You would talk to him in the grocery store, murmured words back and forth. Other people merely walked by.
Only you could see your angel. If he wanted to show himself to others he could. Make it so all could see him, as all angels could do. But he didn’t. You liked to think that he just saved his visibility for you. It was selfish, but it was nice.
Your angel. It’s nice to repeat in your head, sometimes out loud. For the longest time you were alone. For the longest time you were cold.
And sings the tune without the words,
Sometimes you would sit in silence, basking in his presence. You loved it when Connor would stretch his wings back whenever the two of you sat side by side. Soft feathers barely touching your skin. The two of you worked well together. It sometimes hurt.
You wondered often what his thoughts were about you . How he felt. Were you just a job? Was there something more? You would like to think that there was based off the way the two of you talked.
You loved him even more every time he would save you.
And never stops at all.
You wanted to say something. Anything. The love you felt for him grew inside of you every day. You thought it would strangle you at moments. Your heart fluttered with his wings, and your soul flew with him when he would soar.
This was not good. Doubts were what kept you from voicing your adulation. Doubts and fear.
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
“Are you feeling alright?” the words pulled you from your worries. You hadn’t been listening. Tea, now cold, sat tepid in the mug in your hands “Hmm? I-I’m sorry Con I wasn’t listening. What was that?” You were stuck between a daydream and worries when you had stopped listening.
He shifted, seeming uncomfortable “I was just wondering if you were alright” You look at him and almost professed your feelings right there. If only you could. He continued on, eyes not meeting yours. I was just saying that... I may have to leave. For a while at least. Not too long, and I was wondering if you could promise to stay here, at least until I get back” Eyes met, words caught in your throat. You were just as uncomfortable as he was about his leave, but you nodded your head.
And sore must be that storm...
The darkness was sudden, and the rain that pelted outside did not soothe you today, but unnerved you. You felt cold again and scared. The power had gone out suddenly and left you with a feeling of uneasiness. Why hadn’t the back up kicked on? There was only one way to find out, but that would require leaving the house.
Sitting in the dark made you feel worse, so you stumbled around gathering a flashlight and some rain boots. You reasoned that you would be quick and that when he said don’t leave the house he only meant for going to town.
That could abash the little bird...
Freezing rain is what you were met with. It soaked to your bones as you ran out side to the generator. The feel of a broken promise sat heavy in your stomach. Not broken you reasoned just stretched. Your thoughts didn’t help as you bent down to check what was wrong with your equipment. Out of gas. A sigh of relief fell from your lips at the explainable circumstance.
You turned to get a gas can and that was when the relief was chased, torn, from your body as you now stood face to face with a demon. The now pungent smell of sulfur burned your nose. The malicious grin made you freeze. You didn’t have anything to fight with. The demon advanced, so quick it was like you blinked and he was there in front of you. He attacked without warning, cutting your stomach deep with his claws “You’re mine now” the words were pressed into your hair as his lips grazed the side of your head.
That kept so many warm.
Trembling, fear over took you as your eyes were shut tight, wanting to ignore the awful being in front of you, rain slick of it’s leathery wings. You felt the hot blood on top of your skin, causing you to be colder. An odd sensation, to feel two opposites at once.
AS quick as it had started, it had stopped. A flash of blinding light occurred and the scent of sulfur was strong again, you were thankful your eyes were closed. Yells of pain sounded as the light flashed, and vanished with light as well.
Legs weak, the ground met you, a numb shock to your body as consciousness faded from your mind.
I’ve heard it in the chilliest land...
Warmth is what you first registered. It started in your stomach. It then began to grow. Stretching in to your legs and arms. To your fingertips, to your face and eyelids and lips. It was so welcoming, much more than that cold. The next thing you registered was how soft was the ground. No, not the ground. Your couch. The wet still clung to, drops of water pearled and ran down your face.
Finally there was a voice.
And on the strangest sea;
“Open your eyes. Please! I can’t be too late...” You knew this voice. You had spoken with it several times, but you couldn’t place exactly where. Pleading came again and memories rushed to you, like a flood. Your eyes, heavy and with some difficulty, opened. Connor was on his knees by the couch, hands hovering over you as ripped flesh mended, sewn together by his power.
You watched quietly for a while, waiting till he was done. Worry emanated from his form, and you reached out, wanting to calm him. His eyes jolted to yours, encasing your outstretched hand in both of his. You looked away, shame and guilt battling in your stomach. It was a sick feeling, you preferred the warmth.
“I’m sorry... I-I broke your promise. It’s just that I was scared and it was dark...” emotions clogged your throat as tears formed and ran down your cheeks to join the rain drops. You tried to sit up, taking special care. He helped you, making sure you were careful.
Yet, never, in extremity,
Hands moved to your face, still refusing to meet his gaze. His wings shuffled noiselessly as the laid tucked at his back. “I thought you were gone.” His voice held no hostility, nor disappointment, just concern. He moved to be closer, still on the floor. “I knew the risks of leaving you alone.” he tried to catch your eyes “I knew that they might try something like this. If anyone should be sorry it should be me.” You finally looked at him, tears now stopped flowing as he wiped them away.
Nothing was said. Just serene, the serene peace that follows chaos. His gaze softened, something behind his eyes. “I’m just so glad you’re ok” One hand moved from your cheek to the back of your head as he pressed his forehead against yours, his eyes closed. Your heart pounded against your rib cage, begging to be free of the emotion that racked through you.
slowly you closed your eyes as well, enjoying the closeness.
It asked a crumb of me.
You don’t know how long the two of you sat like that. Neither wanted to move. Gingerly, you laid a hand on his that still caressed your cheek. This moment. Soft and calm. You never wanted it to end. Opening your eyes you were greeted with liquid chocolate ones already staring back. He moved his hand from under yours to push away wet strands of your hair.
You didn’t even stop your self. You didn’t want to anymore. “I love you... so much” barely a whisper. The angel in front of you didn’t freeze, didn’t even hesitate as he cupped your face again, a smile forming on his face. Your heart burned at the sight. “I know. I questioned if what I was feeling from you was really what I thought it was. I’ve always felt a pull towards you, and when I sensed that you might be feeling it as well I-- I just knew” He closed his eyes, leaning closer. The words brushed across your lips, sending chills down your spine “I love you too.” He closed the distance, kissing you softly, earnestly. Muddling your senses as you kissed back.
He gave you warmth.
He gave you hope.
Au where instead of “To Break In a Glove,” Larry sings a parody of “Make a Man Out of You.”
