Dean and Cas lay in bed at night, facing one another, eyes locked as always. Cas’s hand rests on Dean’s side, fingers brushing across his skin, tracing the pattern of freckles there. He follows the trail up to Dean’s shoulder and leans forward, pressing his lips against a particularly prominent freckle. Dean smiles and cards his fingers through Cas’s hair. Cas smiles, scooting closer and nuzzling into the crook of Dean’s neck.
He mumbles, “Good night, I love you,” into Dean’s warm skin. Dean moves his arm and wraps it around Cas’s waist, pulling him firmly against his chest.
“Love you too,” Dean murmurs, kissing Cas’s forehead.
Dean closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep, with his angel in his arms and a smile on his face.
okay so i know you're on hiatus because you're writing, but can i just say i stumbled upon your fic 'understanding your body in ten easy steps' and i really, really loved it! i didn't know you wrote fabulous fic!
