Cameras flashed from every angle, your senses felt a little overwhelmed but you decided to suck it up for the night. You took Angus’s hand once you stepped out of the car and looked up at his gorgeous blue eyes.
“You look so pretty tonight mama.” Your cheeks flushed at his compliment.
“Are you sure I’m not too underdressed?” He leaned back and looked you up and down.
You wore a nice light sliverish purple dress with a high leg slit. The color tastefully contrasted with Angus’s black suit. You felt nervous under his gaze.
“You look perfect.” He grabbed your hand making you do a spin.
You giggled then the two of you started walking down the carpet to the entrance while stopping for a few pictures. This was your first award show ever but knowing you didn’t have to do it alone took away all your worries. Both of you smoking before the show might have helped your nerves too.
E network stopped both of you for a quick interview.
“So here we have Y/N L/N at her first award show with her boyfriend Angus Cloud, who also happens to be her boyfriend on the hit show Euphoria.” Angus grabbed your waist and placed a kiss on your neck.
“How has it been working with someone that you developed a relationship with?” She tilted the mic in your direction.
“Honestly it’s been a roller coaster of a emotions. When we act together I can feel his realness radiating as if we were actually in the characters shoes. There’s real feelings of worry, love, anger and sadness. So overall I think it’s really helped me get the feeling across to the watchers.”
“So Angus what do you tell the fans that had such incredibly emotional strong reactions to the finale?” She pointed the mic at him.
“Um.” He looked around.
“I tell em uh… thats wassup. You know what I’m sayin?” You choked out a laugh, making yourself turn around and put your arm on his shoulder to cover it with a cough.
“What was your reaction when you first read the script?”
“I mean… what part of the script?”
After the interview you both walked in and you couldn’t help but bust out laughing.
“Oh my god, you are terrible at interviews.”
“She was askin too many questions, almost blew my damn high.” You giggled and kissed his cheek.
Throughout the rest of the night you mingled around and watched the awards. Most people were talking to Angus which you expected since you’ve only been in one show so far. But he didn’t let you be left out. He always found a way to include you in the convo and never let you stand off to the side.
“Baby you’re showing me off quite a bit tonight.” You spoke to him during the commercial break.
“How could I not, look at you. This is both of our night, not just mine.”
“Mhm you just don’t like talkin to people so you push me in the convos.” He chuckled.
“I mean…you not wrong.”

Fezco had been your best friend since middle school. The last part of sixth grade, to be exact.
He never really had many friends in school, especially not toward the end, right before he unofficially sort of dropped out. He always ate lunch alone, at a little table in the emptiest corner of the cafeteria. At some point, you took notice of the lonely, gangly little ginger boy, and you decided to join him. However cautious of the new company, he was still welcoming of you, and it didn’t take long for the friendship to start forming. Didn’t help that you had a few classes together, so you’d chat during those, too, even if you got in trouble sometimes.
Over that summer, the two of you became inseparable. Your parents were more absent in your life than not, not much caring where you were or who you were with, and his grandmother took you under her wing. Marie let you stay with them for as long as you’d like, no questions asked, wanting you safe instead of just wandering around somewhere. So, it wasn’t entirely uncommon for you to spend weeks at a time at their house, watching cartoons and downing a bowl of fruit loops every morning with Fez and baby Ash by your side. You’d ride your bikes around the block and when your parents finally noticed you were gone, they’d bring you back home. When they fought or when one of them left, which wasn’t very rare, he’d come spring you out of jail… And the cycle would repeat.
Fezco became your safe place, and as the two of you grew, it seemed like your bond only got stronger. He was your best friend, your most trusted confidante, your own personal bodyguard.
Now, you were at home, for once. Laying across your bed, headphones in and blasting music in some attempt to muffle the argument that seeped through the thin walls. You weren't quite sure what it was about this time, but it was loud, and it sounded nastier than usual. As your parents stomped through the house, you finally decide to grab your phone, immediately clicking Fezco's picture. Typing out a message, it feels like you can’t press ‘send’ quick enough.
Y/N: Hey, can u come get me? Fighting again
Fezco’s quick to respond, as always... Even though he'd never been a big fan of texting.
Fez💕: Yeah. There in 10, get ya stuff
With that, you're off the bed, grabbing a bag from your closet. To be honest, at this point, packing your stuff for a stay at Fez's was almost like a routine. Socks, underwear, toothbrush, phone charger. Then, you'd toss in whatever random assorment of clothes was strewn across your bed. They didn't much matter, really. Over the years, you'd left so much at his house that it probably looked like you lived there, with the two dresser drawers and the spot in the closet dedicated to you.
As soon as you sat down on your bed to wait, bag fully packed, your phone lit up with another text.
Fez💕: I'm by the stop sign
You sigh, peeking out of your bedroom door. The yelling had stopped for now. You were sure your parents had wandered off somewhere in the other end of the house, so it was easy for you to creep into the living room unseen. You open the front door particularly quietly, locking it behind you before you sneak down the sidewalk, spotting his car easily, even through the darkness. He's parked by the stop sign just like he'd said, just out of sight from the house.
The car door's already unlocked when you climb in, and you sigh as you toss your bag in the back.
"You good?" He asks, a concerned look washing over his face. When it came to you, he worried entirely too much... In your opinon. He certainly didn't seem to think he did, though. He always said you were worth it to worry, but you never did know whether to believe it or not.
"Yeah, just feel kind of stupid, I guess." You say, clicking your seatbeat in as he begins to drive off. He shoots you a questioning glance, silently asking you to elaborate. "Just thought that shit was over, the constant arguing. Thought they were turning a new leaf or whatever. It’s been weeks, but all of a sudden…”
He nods sympathetically, his expression turning into a thin smile, clearly thinking. "Yeah, I get you.. I'm sorry girlie, but at least I get ya' all to myself for a while."
"Yeah, I guess you do." You laugh, and you can't seem to wipe the stupid grin off your face as you look at him. He always could make you laugh when you didn't feel so great, even if it was with a stupid joke or just some little remark. He was walking comfort, in some weird way.
“Think it’d help if I said I got a surprise?”
“Well, do you?” Your eyebrow raises, but his face remains straight, aside from the little smirk tugging at his lips now. He definitely had something up his sleeve, but you couldn’t quite tell what it was. He wasn’t gonna give anything away, that much was clear.
“Maybe.” He says, keeping his eyes on the road. He can’t help but look over at you though, quickly, just out of curiosity. You’re leaned back against the seat, looking out the window, eyes half-closed like you’re getting tired. For a moment, he catches himself thinking that you’re so pretty, even in the dim glow of the passing streetlights.
“Y’know what? Yeah, it would help.” You laugh softly, head rolling back to glance at him. After a moment, you close your eyes, lightly humming along to the song on the radio.
It’s only a couple minutes before you feel the car turning, opening your eyes to see the headlights shining onto dark pavement. You’re at the old park, the one you used to go to when you and Fez were little. He parks the car in an empty spot, and before you can even ask what the hell you’re doing at a park at midnight, he’s opened the console. A bag of weed and a pack of Swishers between his hands, he looks up at you with a little smile tugging at his lips.
“Is this your surprise?” You ask, a grin coating your cheeks. He nods, eyes crinkling at the corners as the two of you laugh.
“Figure you prolly need it.” He hums, already beginning to tear the packet open. The smell of artificial blueberry floods your nose, but it’s not bad. It’s sort of nice, actually. You shrug.
“You’re not wrong.”
You lean back in the seat again, watching his hands make quick work of cleaning out the wraps, and you can’t help but let your eyes drift up to his face. Rolling is easy for him; at this point, it’s almost a second nature, but he focuses on the task anyway. And honestly? After a moment, you find yourself thinking that he looks so nice in the yellowish light, even if it was way too harsh for such a small car, and wouldn’t be so nice on anyone else. When he finishes rolling, your attention is called back when you hear a small ‘c’mon’.
The two of you walk through the park, laughing as you stumble through the damp grass until you reach the little carousel in the middle. You sit, and it isn’t long before he lights the blunt, passing it to you as he exhales his own hit into the wind. The milky smoke is carried off toward the moon, and somehow, it’s enough to make you both laugh.
“Shit, maybe she’s gettin’ high too. Good for her!” He chuckles, raising a hand to the sky, almost like he’s offering it to her. You roll your eyes, beginning to kick your feet beneath you, causing the two of you to spin around.
The two of you sit there like that for a few minutes, passing the blunt back and forth and laughing about the smallest things, the cold night air filled with lighthearted conversation. Eventually, Fez reaches into the pocket of his jacket, and plastic crinkles beneath his touch. You can barely see what rests between his hands, but after a moment, it clicks.
“Muffin!” You gasp, amazed at his timing. You'd just started feeling sort of hungry... Honestly, you'd already decided that you were definitely gonna bother him about food on the drive back home, already thinking about where you'd beg him to stop at.
"Thought you might want that too." He tosses it to you, a thin smile on his face as you start tearing the wrapper open. He holds his hand out and you plafully smack it away, but he looks up at you with those sleepy eyes, and you can't find it in you to say no to him. You pinch off a little bite and he takes it happily, passing you the blunt again.
"Seems like a fair trade." You shrug, and he laughs.
The two of you sit quietly, both lost in your own thoughts. Thoughtlessly, you pass little pieces of the muffin and the blunt back and forth until there’s little but roach left. Fez stubs it out and you lean over, pulling your hoodie on. The wind had started to chill, and you were getting cold.
“You’re pretty. You know that?” He says softly, looking up at you. You feel the heat begin rising in your cheeks already as you mumble out a clumsy response.
“So are you.”
In that moment, with the wind hitting your rosy cheeks and the sound of Fezco’s sweet laughter ringing out, you’re not sure you’ve ever felt more peaceful.
