A game I'm quite excited for called aniimo is hosting a design an aniimo contest! I entered it for fun and made a super self indulgent creature design, I don't think it will when, but it was really very therapeutic for me to make ❤️

I called it a Hartspark since hart is another name you can call a stag, and i thought the spark was fitting since the electric type, and it's a sily nod to my username as well. Imagine if this creature made it into the game and you could find a wild hartspark LOL :p

I imagine theyre mostly solitary but herd together during breeding season, a herd of them can sound like a low rumbling thunder as their hooves drum up electricity during runs

If I dont get into the next Aniimo beta im gonna lose it. This is the first pokemon competitor I REALLY REALLY want to play.

But man Aniimo NEEDS to get better at trailers if it wants a chance. You cant even tell its a creature collector mmo from the trailers. And gonna be honest I think the trailers art style isnt as good as the in game style.

Also it bugs me that Aniimo isnt getting even a fraction of attention palworld did because it isnt "pokemon but with GUN" but again that really is aniimo teams fault for not putting gameplay in the trailers.

If I get in the beta prepare for me to be so annoying because im going to make you look at all my puppys

I finally got the new housing area for myself in Palia, so we're doing some decorating! Come and vibe under the ocean with me, and also give me ideas~ It's suuuuuper aesthetic, I was shocked by how nice it is!

We might do some Aniimo later too, who knows~!

Artist Note: I did more drawings in WigglyPaint. Don't worry this won't replace MS Paint for good. I'm only experimenting with the drawing platform of WigglyPaint for curiosity sake and to temporarily step out of my comfort zone via trying out a drawing platform that isn't MS Paint.

I thought I would enjoy the monster taming boom that the popularity of Palworld would inevitably bring. But it feels more... cynical.

Like, NOW big companies are interested in making monster tamers. Now that they've seen there's BIG money in it. Well, duh ig.

The only reason Aniimo exists is because some rich guy saw an opportunity to make money, and not to make something out of passion and love of the art form.

It's a free-to-play game that is also going to be on mobile, aka this is just a software to generate as much money as possible for the people who decided this game should exist. And the art style is trying so damn hard to be appealing to as many people as possible (I hate the crabs. They gave the female one pink moss and eyelashes. I will rip out your guts and strangle you with them. Your ears will bleed from the sound of your own screams).

But complaining about this is pretty stupid, this is just how the triple A industry works. And now they have their claws into MY genre.

But I also want the genre to evolve and not just stagnate with Pokémon. So I have mixed feelings about Aniimo, because it is definitely an evolution of the genre, it shows what it can be.

The fact that few to no people have realized how much of that Aniimo trailer was AI generated is insane to me.

Please rewatch that trailer and pay attention to the scenery, the background, the UI, the mini-map... it's so so clear. There's nothing to protect from Nintendo or the Pokémon Company here, fellas, it's just another attempt to fly under the radar as an uninspired AI slop micro transaction cash grab.
