Walk with me. (Spoilers for animal kingdom, cw uncle/nephew incest)

Okay. Im basically just gonna ramble about them.

So we know that Andrew was in love with Julia because yk Smurf is Smurf and crossed his wires between familial love and sexual affection, and that combined with Julia having a sexual relationship with Baz (their adopted brother), he felt that Julia was being taken from him so he kissed her.

But Baz got Julia pregnant, and now there’s a kid in this mess. J who never had a father and never got the care he needed from his mother because she was an addict. And now she’s dead.

J shows up at their childhood home, in Pope’s room, sad and unsure of himself. Him and Pope share this sadness that neither of them can talk about openly in the family, the abandonment and death of Julia.

Time goes on, J gets older and he sort of becomes a combination of his parents, but he has something they didn’t, a true capability for violence, like Pope does. This causes them to bond in season 5. J is smart and capable, he’s able to take of himself and be an adult in ways that Craig and Derran aren’t able to.

Maybe, maybe… Pope’s feelings for Julia got transferred a bit. His love for both Julia and Baz mixed with his anger at Baz’s betrayal gets transferred onto J, who shares both of their traits, and some of Pope’s.

And J misses his mom, he never had a dad, and it’s not really that he wants Pope to be that for him, but he’s his uncle. He’s a parental figure in a way that feels more brotherly and less demanding. He and pope both feel like they killed Julia, but J feels like Pope abandoned him. Maybe they both want him to make up for it.

Idk guys my brain’s rotted and I just like their relationship and what if maybe they kissed covered in blood 😬 okay I’m done you can shoot me now.

J’s also scared of thunderstorms, like Julia, and can’t sleep so he goes to sit by Pope on the couch and watch the tv with him. He doesn’t really say anything, knows it’s childish and stupid. But Andrew doesn’t mind. J falls asleep eventually once the storm calms down a bit and Andrew carries him back to his bed. Well, Andrew’s bed. He lays down too, but doesn’t sleep. He just watches J sleep. He looks like Julia, but he also looks like Baz. Andrew can’t decide if he likes that J resembles them both or not. He’s gone before J wakes up in the morning.
