Of course nOTP: I can't really think of any....... I’ll always love the ship art and people just drawing her in their style but I also feel like there’s so much of her character not being explored!! I really want to change that...

Hi, I really appreciate your posts on Piper. As a white person, it’s really educational on how she should be portrayed. I have a question- is it still okay to draw Piper with little braids in her hair WITHOUT the feathers? I’m genuinely wondering. Thank you!

Hm, I searched various indigenous blogs for anything that Native folks have written about it, and couldn’t find anything to link you to, so you’ll have to ask an Indigenous blogger (one who is comfortable with receiving questions like these, of course) about this! I haven’t heard any specific discussion on it.

The smaller braids usually accompany the feathers, so I generally have a bad feeling about them, but I don’t know how various Indigenous people feel about the small braids on their own.

I believe braids in general are fine, as I’ve seen many Indigenous fans draw them, and especially when they’re referenced off actual Tsalagi/Cherokee people and not “guessed” based on what you’ve been taught Native hairstyles are like. But I really don’t know about the small braids.

If any Indigenous followers have thoughts on this, feel very free to respond <3

Otherwise I’d say maybe just, draw regular braids instead or don’t draw braids at all. can’t help you much with this one!
