26 | any pronouns | Ey! I post drawings, sketches or animations of whatever I'm into every so often. My art is under the #myart and #myanimation tags. I hope you enjoy your stay. c:
If you like creature or monster art, I have a side blog where I post drawings of them!
#myart and #myanimation tags contain all of my art. I also have #myartfav that has my top 5 favorite works I have posted at the moment.
Asks are open! Questions about art/animation, me in general, fandom stuff or something completely random is perfectly fine but just please keep it SFW and nothing too personal!
I will be diversifying the franchises I draw art for, but for now, there is a link tree below to most of my Danganronpa art if you are interested.
Have a nice day :]
===============DanganRonpa=(Spoilers for all games)====
- Roaring Cherry Blossom -
- My Danganronpa AU action game idea -
[Part 0] - Beginning plot (also contains a TLDR for everything at the very bottom)
[Part 1] - General look of Sakura and Monokumas
[Part 2] - More ideas, Mikan fight, Gundham introduction
Yes, I still think about it every so often! I've thought of some changes to old ideas like Hiyoko's fight and I think it would be useful to remake old art and condense all the important info into one big post detailing all the set character designs, gameplay elements, remnant fights and major story beats sometime.
I just don't have an urge to keep doing smaller sketchy infographic type stuff for it forever; when I make something more for the AU I rather it be something more impressive like a character moment or an ambitious-for-one-person-to-animate scene Ive kept in my head for years. I want to keep improving my skills and keeping the momentum going to fully realize them so one smaller project at a time. RCB is still dear to me...
HI I LOVE YOUR ANIMATION!!! do you have any favourite frames or feel like talking about the process? i love hearing about that kind of stuff!!
Sure!! I'll also share my thought process along with it :]
So with my last animation as the example, I always start with thumbnails to brainstorm. I also went in knowing I wanted to try a monochrome pink pallette so I played with that a bit:
My first idea was Mettaton bringing a cake that he slices and shares with Alphys by separating the normal and ghost form of it, but I thought I could make it more personable if they made the cake together instead. That implies their friendship and teamwork a lot more which feels better demonstrating their story.
Next, because the general composition was fine, I jumped to a main key frame pass with changes to show that they made the cake instead:
Also with a few more ideas:
They are instead trying the cake to make sure it tastes good after their teamwork; one taking care of the cake and the other the frosting.
Mettaton goes off screen for a moment so your eyes can focus on Alphys putting frosting on the cake; something easily missable if you were distracted elsewhere. I figured since both of his hands were full from the cake + closing the oven, he would have to go get a fork to try it anyways.
The two end it off with a human gesture they would know from media they've watched, with Alphys doing a simpler ok sign and Mettaton doing a chef's kiss variety which I thought was appropriate.
Though, while I thought Alphys' movements were fine here, I felt like Mettaton's were kinda too flat for the kind of character he is and I made him do the extra thinking pose when making the rough animation which felt way better:
I also made him come back to frame via showing the fork first to clearly answer what he went to grab and it being pointed towards what we were just looking at shows his main goal now that he has it.
But if you also notice, Mettaton separates the ghost cake with a big plunge of the fork and that started bugging me after a while. I decided that the ghost cake should have its own moment for the viewer to see it and process what happened so I changed it to the stab+slower pull up he does in the final.
I would usually make a more cleaned up rough animation pass but because I already draw these characters a bunch, I could jump straight to the lineart pass which was just a lot of finalizing timing and making sure body shapes/details were consistent.
The final lineart is basically the final colored version so yeah! After 3ish days of work this piece was finished. As you can see, thinking about little details is a big part of the process.
As for favorite frame honestly the final frame gives me lots of joy so I'll say that one. Thank you for asking! :]
Ah jeez this is a tough choice, there's so many good words.....
For words I like to say, I like names of animals that already sound fun like "shrimp" or "emu" or "cockatoo"
For word that means the most to me, its probably "Dragon" (shocking, I know) as Ive always associated dragons with being awesome and people having so many cool interpretations of them. That creativity is very inspiring to see in whichever media I see :]
What program do you use for animation? Your stuff is so cool!
Hey thanks! I use CSP EX! :] Since I draw in it normally too, it feels natural animating in the same place you draw as I do more traditional frame by frame.
This year was full of more work art which I wasn't gonna put here, it definitely slowed my personal art. I am still happy I was able to keep animating, though, here's to even more in the next year!
Non linked:
Feb-Apr: Cover for a fanzine I also head modded! Project took a chunk of my time this year....
Aug: A drawing I forgot to post and tbh I now want to redo but I still enjoy.
Nov: For YGO abridged reanimated, no more peeking.
Danganronpa 2 is getting a remake! How are you feeling right now?
After letting the announcement sit for a day I think that this was the best scenario for a new danganronpa game with new content and Im excited!
Dr2 characters are already some of the most popular and beloved of the series, it can technically fit in the timeline because of the nature of DR2's virtual world, there was already alternate plot beats thought of in this game's development (fuyuhiko dying instead of hiyoko thing for example) which they could just do now and there's less of a risk if something happens that people don't like cause people can just go back to the original anyways.
I HOPE this leads to a DR1 remaster because that game needs it way more. Imagine if the alternate content for that one was DR If and actually give Mukuro some love, that'd be pretty neat! But I wouldn't be too sad if it was just upgraded graphics and gameplay. (please let us agree with students in that game its so weird not being able to)
Otherwise, I've read and played everything danganronpa so far and this will be the next, I'm so ready.
