I've really slacked off when it comes to uploading my Helluva Boss backgrounds. Tumblr is back on my radar as all other social media makes me miserable. So have some from Season 2! Still one of my favourite locations to work on.

I'm really proud of this little animated clip! Long and arduous process under the cut :)

Back in 2023 I decided to bring a story idea of mine about a group of teens in a near-future city to life with a series of backgrounds. This was the original interior I did of the library where they would hang out.

After I was done with it… I realized I hated it!

Why? Because it was narratively inert. The piece was doing very little to communicate the story idea I had in my head.

At the end of 2024 I got some really good feedback about the design process of this background and the others in this projects and began to redesign everything with more focus.

On to 2025! These are the layouts I arrived at.
