I'm obsessed with Inscryption and AvM and had a terrible idea in mind: Animation vs Inscyption. Instead of Luke Carder, the Animator finds the game and thinks "ah my stick figures would like a virtual version of the card game!" not knowing what he's getting into at all

I read this ask about an Animation vs Inscryption idea and my brain went into OVERDRIVE

Please take these cobbled together thoughts for an AvInscryption AU? Story Idea? Who knows but take these anyways

CW: Implied Violence (its Inscryption, there's gonna be violence)

Whether or not the Animator finds the game before Luke does or if he just buys it off of Steam, here's how I think an Animation vs Inscryption crossover could go!

First up, it starts out with the stick figures messing around on the opening screen. Just kinda checking out the settings and general vibe of the game until one of them (Red) places the "Continue Game" card into the action slot.

From there the game starts with Red in the player's chair. The other sticks are there but they're more like disembodied voices in Red's ear. For one reason or the other, the Sticks are stuck in the game until it's either beaten or until someone on the outside shuts the game off. The game plays as normal but as always, Leshy doesn't make it easy for the Challenger, and Red loses to the Prospector. He's the first to get turned into a Death Card. 3 attack, 1 heart with prickly for 1 blood.

The world darkens and suddenly Blue's in the seat. They're able to free Stink Bug with the help of Stoat but they ultimately lose to the Angler. Their Death Card is 2 attack, 3 heart with the gift-bearing sigil for 4 bones.

Up next is Yellow. During their run, they're able to figure out most of the puzzles all the way up to getting the knife but they don't end up using it. Yellow actually does win against Leshy and they expect the game to end but to their, Orange, and Green's surprise, Yellow instead gets turned into a Winner's Card and gets hung on the door.

The game continues with Green up to bat. Whether its nerves or bad RNG, Green ends up using the knife in one of the battles. Cue Green gaining the Magic eye and freeing the Stunted Wolf, as well as gaining the film for the camera. But his luck runs out and Green loses to the Trapper and Trader. His Death Card reads, 3 attack, 2 heart with bifurcated strike with a cost of 3 blood.

Finally, Orange is the last challenger. With the film in hand and the knowledge from all the previous runs, they're not going down without a fight. And a fight it is. Orange makes it all the way to Leshy's fight and beats the old Scrybe. Using the film, Orange is able to take Leshy's photo and use it to inscrybe him into a card. Grabbing the "New Game" Card, the world goes white.

ENTER ACT 2:

Second wakes up in a strange pixelated world, their friends no where to be seen. But don't worry. They'll find them soon enough. And in the meantime, it looks like the Scrybes got some new helpers.

And that's literally all I got for now

I still haven't thought about how Act 3 is going to play out but MAN is this fun

I like how this implies that if Char!Alan plays the game along with Stick Figures, instead of just playing it normally

The In-Game Character model gets replaced with a model of the cursor

And I think that's very funny

Leshy: Ah, a challenger. Finally we shall play-

[notices its a flying cursor instead of a person]

Leshy: What is this.

- Meanwhile -

The stick figures are watching Alan play from the couch

Yellow: I think he noticed the model switch

I'm loving the Animation vs Insryption au! I'm curious what happened to the stick figures for ACT 2, have they forgotten who they were before? Or do they remember but got corrupted by being in the game for so long?

(the sonic movie 2 trailer came out and took over my entire brain for a bit alskjgd)

But I have thought a little bit more about how ACT 2 would play out!

Spoilers for ACT 2 of Inscryption down below!

Okay, so ACT 2!

What I'm thinking is that the Color Squad haven't fully lost their memory. They still remember each other and the bonds they share. They still remember Second and are happy to see them when Second goes the defeat each Scrybe. BUT they are very slowly being corrupted by the game!

The Stick Figures aren't supposed to exist like this in the game so the game itself, is trying to warp them so that they do fit. Hence why Red, Yellow, Green and Blue become aids/helpers of the Scrybes.

How I imagine an ACT 2 would play out is that Second has to go to each Scrybe, fight the 3 mini bosses as usual, fight their friends, and then fight the Scrybe. Once the Scrybe is defeated, Second gets to recruit their friend on their journey!

So for example, Second goes to fight Leshy first! They meet Leshy, they fight the Prospector, the Angler, and the Trapper and Trader. Then they have to fight Red and then they can fight Leshy.

Once they beat Leshy, Red gets to accompany Second on their way to the next Scrybe!

And then so on and so forth until all of the Scrybes are beat

WAIT Wait wait. how could you have and Animations vs Inscryption AU WITHOUT INCLUDING PURPLE?????

AS MUCH AS I WOULD LOVE TO INCORPORATE PURPLE INTO EVERYTHING I DO

REALISTICALLY, THEY DON'T REALLY HAVE A PLACE IN THE MAIN STORY

Maybe as like a side story after the main Animation vs Inscryption crossover is done, the Color Gang bring Purple along to play the game

but as for the main story? Unfortunately, I don't think Purple will show up

UNLESS-

Purple is the one to close the game to get the Sticks out? Hmmm... I will have to think thonk about this...

do the scybes realize the sticks arent supposed to be there after they become helpers?

I think so!

In the actual game, the Scrybes seem at least aware to some level that they're in a game. It would make sense if they also can tell when you either break it or if something that's not supposed to happen, happens

Or in this case, when someone isn't supposed to be there

But also, canonically, these Scrybes are kinda messed up people. Even Grimora, the least messed up, still has her issues

So frankly, even though they know the Sticks aren't supposed to be in the game like this, they're gonna act like its fine because,

Hey, its something new! And you know they've probably been craving something new and different for a while
