Rooftop Explosion - test 3
After experimenting with a simple plain I added the animation to the final roof top and this was the final result.
There is still a few feautres I must adjust to make sure the object doesn’t move after it gets hit but I am quite pleased with the result and I think it will look quite good on the final animation.
Moon Texture - Shirt Transparency
One important feature on the Moon design are her see-trough shirt sleeves. This was a feature I was not unsure of how to achieve in toon shader so I asked our tutor Sang Yu for advice.
I used a similar technique as I had applied to the Water’s body to showcase transparency within a surface. It a simple process which simply required to adjust a few features on the shader. Since each section of the model was a separated object this process a become a lot easier.
Environment Design
For my backgrounds I planned to use 2D drawn trees I created myself and simply add them as a plane with an alpha channel in Maya.
These where the different styles of tree I ended up designing.

Voice Recording
This is one of the many recordings I did of myself.
In here I tried saying Vuá Satá’s catch phrase “It’s storytelling time” in a series of different tones. this would be very useful later as it gives a wider range of recordings to choose from.

Protection Gear/ Socks colour test
After various attempts this is the final full colour character design I came up with.
Designing from reference 4
Following my initial concept idea of having a bird like character as the storyteller for this project I started to look into references which could help me understand this concept more and further develop the idea. For this set of design practice I used some characters from a few stories I have previously came across.
A story which I quite like and am currently still watching is the manga “Birdmen” by Tanabe Yellow. I find the story quite unique and its interesting to have bird like creatures as a new species which are the focus of the whole storyline.
Other reference which can be seen above are from the anime’s “Yu Gi Yo” and “Boku no Hero Academy”.
