I’m thinking back to that time in marineford when Buggy is surprised that the world government knows about his connection with Shanks lol. Because like, Buggy definitely wasn’t going around telling people he was an ally or even remotely friendly with Shanks. Buggy was actively saying the complete opposite, and rarely talked about his upbringing.
So how the fuck did they get that info? Like yes, they are the world government, Gol was their main enemy, so of course they had notes on who used to be on his crew. But I think it’s funny they specifically say “blood brother”/“ally”. And I doubt they just assigned that label because they grew up on the same crew. Especially with how loudly anti Shanks Buggy is lol.
I like to think Shanks was going around talking about his love for Buggy so much that even the world government found out. Bro was drunkenly pining so loud the Marines heard LOL! And that Shanks’s pining is more convincing to the government, than Buggy’s vocal disdain. The government said…Shuggy real.
