Anissa might be the ex-player, but Grace is constantly showing us that she might have been an ex-player herself with these lines she be throwing out.

grace/anissa is like. ok they're both on a superhero team, right? this particular team is like, one that mostly tries to stay out of public eye and does the shit that mainstream heroes can't do bc they're too well known or whatever 

and anissa's like, her dad is a justice league superhero, and he doesn't want her to get into the hero business but she does it anyway and she's like, i think grace calls her a cheerleader and sorority girl a couple of times bc grace doesn't know how to flirt. and anissa's like this, super loyal super moral person who just wants to do the right thing and make a difference and shit and grace is pretty sure shes an actual princess

and grace is like, she used to be a bouncer, she's this 7 foot tall literal amazon (she doesnt know shes an amazon at first tho i think? it's complicated) with piercings and tattoos and dyed hair and she's really gruff and pretends not to give a shit about stuff but she really does she's also like, explicitly pansexual homoromantic there's a whole period where she explains it. and grace is like really disillusioned and bitter but also deep down believes there's good in the world even though she acts like she's just in hero business for the money and the chance to hit douchebags. and she's also loyal as hell and would do literally anything for anissa and there's this time in the comics where before they're together the first time anissa realizes that grace would move  mountains for her and anissa's just staring after her in shock 

and like no like grace is absolutely wild about anissa from the getgo she's like she falls in love with her in like .5 seconds and it takes anissa a while to get with the program bc she just thought grace was a sarcastic asshole when grace is like fuckin completely head over heels in love with her for like YEARS and then one time anissa comes to grace's apartment and kisses her out of nowherethen runs away and GRACE'S FAAACE WHEN SHE DOES IT NO LIKE

another character who is really cool and important is lois lane and i cant remember the last time i talked about lois/diana but lois/diana is ARGUABLY the second most important ship in comic books the first most important is grace choi/anissa pierce who are actually canonically in love and i think they might get married even though grace never thought she'd get married and is pretty worried about fucking it up but anissa is her Forever Girl basically and she would look really great in a wedding dress i was going to talk about lois/diana but i got distracted by grace/anissa remember that time z wrote me grace as a FIREFIGHTER i bet grace could bench press anissa i bet grace picks up anissa princess style and sometimes anissa changes her density to see what grace will do remember that time they stopped a jet together
