☕ in Korea #12 - Bossa Nova

Another an iconic coffeeshop on the Anmok Coffee Street - Bossa Nova.

I really liked the design of the coffeeshop. The overall building is very tall, & I highly appreciate the open space created between the main & 2nd floor.

Main floor. Occasionally, they have special events held here, & this free space on the main floor is capable of being an intimate venue for such small-scale events.

Behind the glass window on main floor, there’s a small-ish seating space.

Very cozy & those wooden furniture look so cute!

The coffeeshop also served as a drama filming location.

2nd floor: where the ordering counter & merch are located.

Ordering counter. Compared to Coffee Cupper with just a select few options, the menu of foods here at Bossa Nova was much more extensive. Besides the typical cookies & cakes, they also have sandwiches & salads.

After I placed my order, I received a buzzer from them like every other cafe. I found an empty seat on the 2nd floor balcony, & this was my view. Although this space was dented in, I was able to feel a bit of a breeze. & it felt so good!

Got my coffee. I got the hand-drip coffee of the day, which was their featured Ethiopian blend. It had an interesting combo of smoothness/silkiness & smokiness.

Shortly after I sat down, the line-up got longer. But here’s a wider shot of the 2nd floor. All bar stool seating along the balcony & next to the window in the back of the photo.

3rd floor. The view by the window was the same from where I was.

The main difference was the abundant seating on this floor compared to the other floors bcos this floor doesn’t have that empty space like the 1st 2 levels.

This was floor 3.5 haha there’s a narrow staircase from the 3rd floor that leads into this semi-roof top. As expected, this was a very popular area bcos it’s outdoors. You can see the full view of the Anmok Beach & the Coffee Street on either side of Bossa Nova.

This was not set up yet when I got to Anmok Beach earlier in the morning, but now, it looks like the show will start anytime! Sadly, I wasn’t able to stay for it as I had another stop in Gangneung to visit.

08.04.2013, Gangneung und Anmok-Strand Heute gibt es nicht viel zu erzählen. Wir haben eine anstrengende 6 1/2-Busfahrt nach Gangneung (강릉) hinter uns. Gangneung ist eine kleine Stadt am Ostmeer, von der aus man die vielen schönen Sandstrände der Ostküste erreichen kann. Da der Tag fast vorbei war, als wir angekommen sind, haben wir am Anmok-Strand (안목) einen Spaziergang in der Abendsonne unternommen...
