Beetlejuice (musical) AU! I couldn't have picked a better year for this to come out lol. Close-ups of the main line up and my rambley AU notes under the cut

this au originally started out as a mcyt one in my head several years ago and uhhh now it's this.

It was actually hard to figure out who I wanted to put where after I decided to leave the mcyt version in the dust

Dan being Lydia was the first thing I decided

I'm starting to realize he's just doomed to play the main character in every musical au I create lol

everyone else was a rotating cast

I think the first version I drafted up was Kevin as Beetlejuice and Jack and Evelien as Adam and Barbara, but then I didn't know who I wanted to be Charles or Delia so the version didn't get very far

(Beautiful Sound is so Kevin and Dan coded tho)

I even briefly considered Spiff for Beetlejuice but the Vibe wasn't there tbh

no one was ever going to fit Barbara and Adam as well as the mcyt version

I actually liked Sean and Evelien as the Maitlands but again, it left a hole in other character roles

I'm least satisfied with Mango and Spiff

there was a point where Sean and Eveilen were Charles and Delia and Mango and Spiff were the Maitlands buuuuut I decided Kevin didn't fit as Beetlejuice in that version

maybe in the future I'll redo this and none of it will matter. who's to say

most of the outfits were designed with animation in mind since I would like to animate the songs in the future

Mango has a different outfit in every scene she's in to correspond with Delia never wearing the same outfit twice

what bothers me the most is I don't know how tall everyone is compared to each other

I made Dan shorter on purpose tho

it's a visual cue that he's younger
