I have a friend who is 50% hypocondriac and 50% has legit disorders. So I hear a lot of stories about “what ailment she has this week” sort of thing. (adhd story under the cut)

Last week it was “microseizures” which she very well might have (but hasn’t gotten any kind test for it yet, just suggestions by her doctor) but what struck me was, she’s describing what it’s like to just “zone out and realize you didn’t intake anything that happened in the last several seconds/minutes. And it happens several hundred times a day.”

Usually when she describes her most recent ailment, my reaction is “gosh I’m sorry, that sucks”. But this time the only thing I could honestly say in response was “I know exactly what that is like”, and she did NOT know how to react to that response. (which leads me to believe that she is looking for sympathy and not empathy most of the time, which was a sad discovery on my part)

Sure I don’t experience microseizures, but I have pretty bad ADHD, which has very similar symptoms (to the point that they are sometimes misdiagnosed for each other). It was a bit of an eye opener for me to realize just how underappreciated ADHD by the general public and by my friend specifically. :/

I took an Ambien (for the first time in a while last night) and apparently said some stupid shit on Tumblr then deleted the app off my phone. I don’t remember doing any of this. I apologise if you were someone I was an asshole too.

but I’d like to propose Nursey’s Dad (Mr. Nurse) who loves his nb pansexual child and supports Derek with all his heart

and also his words because the man is excellent at snappy comebacks (and Dad jokes and puns) and will release the floods on anyone who gives Derek shit.

I’m proud of myself for cleaning all the dishes in the sink (that I brought down from my bedroom) and getting my laundry done all before my roommate got home

now I just have to put the clean clothes away. Why is that always the hardest part?
