For the character ask game

Oh, I love Shoko so much. And I both love talking about her and have difficulty with putting what I feel and think into words but I will try!

Okay, one thing I like about her is something that also makes her character quite tragic. Throughout the story of jjk, she is always there, always a part of it, but mostly in the background. And still, everyone constantly relies on her. She is constantly healing people, stitching them back up but also preparing their bodies to be burried. Like every sorcerer, she is just expected to fulfill her role, no questions asked.

I think she is a very good representation of a special kind of loneliness, where she is surrounded by people and expected to be there, but rarely acknowledged, or acknowledged differently to others. And here comes a part I have difficulty understanding about her. Maybe because we don't see that much of her (anime and manga both tbh), or maybe it's time for a reread xD. But I honestly don't know, how fine she is with that. She sure seems to have accepted everything as is, but did she really? *runs around the room, head in hands*

Now to what I dislike. That is even more difficult to say!! Because I love that woman!! But I would probably faint from the cigarette smoke clinging to her within a one meter radius.

top 5 favorite things to write!

This is so broad...! I'm going to answer with my heart hahaha

I like meandering cosy stuff, probably featuring a tired and semi-functional character moving somewhere new and experiencing the new setting in excruciating detail — very soothing to write

An extremely linear fantasy adventure, probably featuring a murder and some good old fashioned high fantasy graphic violence. (⁠人⁠ ⁠•͈⁠ᴗ⁠•͈⁠)

Horror themes without writing actual horror or, like, thriller. The themes are often present in a story that is otherwise focused on romance, comedy or... linear fantasy adventure, I guess. Ha.

This one's fanfic specific: I like a silly fic in which a character's personality causes problems and zero lessons are learnt.

Something with absolutely awful characters finding that that are still worthy of each other's affection, hand in unlovable monster hand. Aww.

I *think* you're supposed to tell me what you love, so the same question to you, BUT, from the top of my head:

- The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin, of course (and everything else she ever wrote lbr) (also everyone should read her "The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction" essay about science fiction!!!)

- The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers (I mean... the rest of her stuff too but I think these in particular need to be read together)

- The Strugatsky brothers: The Roadside Picnic obvs but also their funny and genre-bending stuff like Monday Starts on Saturday (a sci-fi workplace absurdist comedy/political satire) and Dead Mountaineer's Inn (a sci-fi locked room mystery)

my beef with him is PURELY about glee. mostly about the myth the legend the lesbian quinn fabray’s storylines, but also in general. the biphobia, the klaine cheating bullshit, quinn asking for mercedes specifically to be with her WHILE SHE GAVE BIRTH and then never speaking one-on-one again, the vaporape scene, will schuester….
