This red velvet gown was first worn in the 2008 film 𝑩𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒚, by Anna Friel as Elizabeth Bathory. Due to the style of the costume, it is unlikely that it originated with this film, and it almost certainly came from an earlier production.   The 2024 episode of 𝑹𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒔𝒚 about Mary I, or Bloody Mary, also featured this gown, sans some of the adornments seen earlier, but adding proper undersleeves. It was worn by Olivia Hallinan as Queen Mary Tudor.   Please note that both of these productions do contain potentially problematic content (violence, sex, gore, etc), and Recycled Movie Costume's commentary on the costumes in a production is not necessarily a film/television recommendation. Ned: I’m not a fan of the hug.

Chuck: Then you haven’t been hugged properly. It’s like an emotional Heimlich. Someone puts their arms around you and they give you a squeeze, and all your fear and anxiety comes shooting out of your mouth in a big wet wad and you can breath again.

Ned: That's fine for someone else to do if I'm choking on something other than emotion, but you can't touch me.
