Chuck, Pushing Daisies
rewatching the best show ever ; (pop! goes my heart — hugh grant)
idk if they ever revealed any of their future plans, but i always had the sense that if pushing daises had kept going with the story, they were building up to reveal that ned's dad had the same powers as him.
'cause in a fictional logic kind of way, it makes perfect sense for the powers to be hereditary, and they always had all that stuff about him being a "magic dad" that might've been hinting at it.
it also might've lent more depth to why he abandoned ned after chuck's dad and ned's mom died. maybe the double death made him guess that ned had the same powers and he didn't know how to cope with it and panicked and turned to escapism.
plus they kept hinting that ned's dad and chuck's dad and dwight dixon were up to some super shady shit when they were in the military, but they never elaborated on what it was. and i mean... imagine the us military getting their hands on a soldier with that kind of power... or even just the soldier undetected & acting as a rogue agent in countries the us is at war with... that's a recipe for some extreme situations. which might even mean that chuck's dad and/or dwight knew about the powers...
anyway i have no idea if i was reading the intent correctly, but it's interesting to think about.
pushing daisies where everything is the same but anytime ned, olive, or chuck pull Some Dumb Shit emerson looks at the camera like it’s the office

I saw these pics from Pushing Daisies and ended up down a rabbit hole.
Fun facts about boxes from TV Tropes:
Also this quote from Paul McGann is somehow delightful:
It’s been 13 years, 28 days, and a number of minutes since I first drew Pushing Daisies fanart…
A redraw of one of my favorite shows!
Super quick dumb doodle of Chuck and Ned as Dan and Herbert :) (really they should switch costumes cuz tall Herbert feels cursed but ned *is* a reanimator so) inspired by @hollowvok ‘s post
