Grey Bone-Class Dragons: Annalis and Cautus
Annalis is an old Bone dragon of fearsome renown and legend. Though not quite as old as Libris, he is rather old, and has known the giant Elite for some time. Alongside the Beau of today, he is one of the only dragons left who has his own natural bonemark. Unlike the grey dragons who were taken and altered with Black Draconium, Annalis was one of the few who escaped this fate. Though a bit...greener, than most Bone dragons, he’s still grey enough to have exo-bones to shed. He hides away within a Temple ran by Grey Priests, who for generations he has guarded and worked alongside. Annalis strives to help keep the old stories alive and present, and to not let their lessons be forgotten. Some of these Priests he works with today are either in contact with the Mechanists, or double as Mechanists themselves. They help Annalis keep up to date with the city’s status. To supplement his intel, he occasionally, though very rarely, will use his bonemark’s power to disguise himself as a Green Mutt and investigate the city himself. This always brings him great sorrow, as the dragons have fallen once again and humans have wholly forgotten what happened the last time. Annalis desperately hopes that another war is averted, or if it’s inevitable...that it’s ended soon.
Cautus is a much younger Bone dragon than Libris and Annalis, who has long since been a secret asset of Precinct. Only a select few officers know of Cautus’ presence, and this knowledge has been selectively passed down throughout the decades since his arrival. The comparatively young Bone dragon has more Blue in him than he should, though he still retains the exo-bone trait of the Bone-Class. He hasn’t shed them yet, as he’s worried the draconium from his exo-bones might end up in the wrong hands. Though he trusts the dragons and humans of Precinct, accidents happen, and you never know who’s watching. With what little ancient knowledge he possesses, Cautus was the one who taught the breeders at Precinct how to breed the perfect mixture of traits for policing the city. Sure, knowing what he does, one would think that he shouldn’t be encouraging dragon breeding. But Cautus knows that some dragons that were instrumental to winning the first war weren’t pure Gold Star-Class dragons. The Original Beaucephalis needed help to save both races, and Cautus knows that whatever hero comes next, they’ll need help as well. And if Cautus gets his way, the dragons and humans of Precinct will be there.
