Hello! Hello!

mygoodness, it's been a while! i missed being here in this amazing space and for months i've been wanting to get back in the swing of things like i used to, so i'm giving it a shot :"D anyway! how about a quick life update?

- i had worked for 3-4ish months during summer, quit just before university started. i was hopeful that i could do both at the same time but the schedules were conflicting and so i had to choose my priorities

- saved up some (a bit) from my work and finally bought my dream shoes and a decent tablet that i could use in uni. adulting is real hard af

- aside from uni, i've been so busy with my new beau. four months together now and counting and i am going to run a few posts about this, you'll learn more about it in a while i swear. we've been keeping it semi private but goddamn, i am just in love with him, it's hard to keep it to myself sometimes

- about the fanfics, i am honestly still finding that lil spark of inspiration and motivation to finish them, especially my beloved Sweet November. updates should be up soon so watch out but i can't guarantee anything i swear.

I just want to go on record and say that I love the 1957 Perry Mason TV show (in case you could not guess from my blog)! The storylines are great, the cast is incredible, the cars are amazing, they all have good chemistry... it is just a great show!

Okay it’s almost midnight and I have to be up in six hours, but

I have a lot of feelings about characters that can see the future (namely Bruno Madrigal at the moment)

I think people always approach the future as something they can change, but I think there’s a more interesting way to look at it

If a character can see a set event in the future, there’s nothing that can stop it from happening, right? So what if instead, the focus is put on knowing how and why that thing will come to pass?

I’d love to see or write a character who can see the future, who goes full on conspiracy mode. They get a vision and immediately set up a cork board and get the printer and string ready. Their family or friends come to check on them and get roped into listening to a three hour nonsensical rant about how their neighbor’s dog is going to cause a four car pile up half a world away, or a quick explanation that they’re going to get sick in three days because they predictably forgot they’re lactose intolerant and drank a whole quart of milk on an impulsive dare with their sibling.

I want to have seers who apply their powers in the most mundane or intentionally bizarre ways. I want a seer who leaves notes in people’s mailboxes warning them not to drive a certain way that afternoon or reassuring them that a promotion at work is coming soon.

I just watched the Bob Ross Documentary on Netflix.

Dude, I almost had a heart attack- at first I thought it was about some evil side Bob Ross had. Thank god that was not the case.

The Kowalskis are not great. And BRI- fuck that.

Why am I not surprised that they did not want to participate in the film? I bet they will release their version in the future. I shouldn’t watch it…but I’m curious what they will put together. Even if that’s a thing, my stance most likely will not change.

I feel bad for Bob’s son and closest friends.

Also, ‘Kathwren’ is now my favorite spelling of the name.

During the whole ‘Bob was trying to be sensual to his female audience’ scene, omfg. Perfect.

THE DADDY BOB SHIRT

When they showed the clip of Bob talking about the passing of his wife Jane, something inside my heart died. His eyes were just lost and teary looking. It pained me.

Overall, Bob deserved better- especially in his last months. The BRI just took his image and with some of their products…just seemed to…idk…really REALLY make a caricature of his image. What made him special was his message that anyone can paint and bring joy to their lives somehow in some mysterious way.

Now I want to watch the Joy of Painting.

you know what anti-azula argument i keep hearing that i just don’t understand? the idea that she doesn’t deserve redemption because she tried to kill the gaang so many times. and.....yeah. she did. and that’s not good obviously, but it was entirely because they were at war! the entire series takes place during a war in which nearly every character was heavily involved. this is what i don’t understand. people seem to think that acts of aggression in wartime, under direct orders, in dangerous situations single a person out as irredeemably bad. and there are other arguments for why azula doesn’t deserve the other characters’ forgiveness (which i don’t agree with, but they typically have more credibility), and yet so many people tend to go for “oh well she tried to kill them a million times” as if she wasn’t under extreme pressure to do that.
