You've mentioned before I think that a cat who got away with murder in life will still get got by Horoa and his hunters when they die. But do cats in the living ever get signs that happened? Like, will a Seer get a sign and realize they have to inform their (likely grieving) Clanmates after the fact that Falcontail actually managed to piss of Horoa and they probably shouldn't talk about her any more?
More often than not, yes. But sometimes a cat only gets punished by the gods and the living have no idea. It's up to StarClan and the Three to decide to inform their charges that a dead cat doesn't deserve mourning.
seers and mages
seers use their aspect as a framework or a narrative to explain the world around them. they enjoy decomposing and recomposing everything in the terms of their aspect, setting up metaphors and parables about their aspect that they refine through conversation with others. because their insights are developed through story-telling, through social interaction, seers often lose their sight when their relationships with others are lost or strained.
mages are a different kind of story-teller. for mages, their aspect is not a framework, but a constraint. the stories they tell are testimonial, and feature their aspect as an ever-present force that almost turns into a concrete, often-antagonistic personality/or character in the course of the tales they tell. just as seers' descriptions of the world become metaphorical as result of their desire to explain to others, mages' descriptions of their lives become allegorical as result of their desire to blame the spectre of their aspect when they complain to others. mages therefore likely mirror seers in that they probably lose their sight when their relationships with others are lost, not because they become blind to their aspect, but because they become blinded by their aspect and its overwhelming presence.
what seers and mages offer the friends that help them in their journey to knowledge is solutions. mages' knowledge and the stories that generate them are specific, concrete, and in many ways, very personal to them. consequently, they solve problems miraculously, in ways that are difficult to understand and even harder to replicate. seers' knowledge and the stories that generate them are abstract and--while no less sophisticated than those of mages--tend towards generality and universalizability. as a result, they can teach you to solve problems related to their aspect all on your own.
Undeniable Sign That You’re a Seer
When your sleep paralysis episodes are not terrifying.
Yes, you are paralyzed.
But there’s no monster in the corner.
There’s no heaviness in your chest.
You even find yourself waiting for a message or a vision, instead of simply begging your body to wake up.
This means your soul has unnatural strength. Your spirit has inherent protection. And your eye is ready to witness what only a few can glimpse.
If you are who I’m describing, 80% of your dreams are predictions about the future or revelations about the past.
Take note of them.
They are your path to granted wishes and answered prayers. Both for yourself and for those who need your help.
I wanted to share with you the other clans. I think I might make a bonus comic where Kindle meets the leaders at a gathering or something like that :)
WispClan -
Leader - Rowanstar
A large portion of the forest area. The cats in this clan used to be split into two clan that shared the forest, AspenClan and EvergreenClan, but they dispersed after the fire. They used to fight alot.
Act like a basic clan.
NewClan
Leader - Honeystar
Camp is an abandoned human cottage near a river. These cats also came from AspenClan and EvergreenClan.
Leaders and their families sorta get special treatment alot of the time. They also believe in arranged marriages, especially with leader kits.
WebClan
Leader - Casperstar
Oldest clan. They take up the marshlands up north. Kinda mysterious.
Casper is the oldest leader of all the clans though he doesn't look it. They've had the same leader since they were formed and they follow him blindly. Alot of their special customs are unknown and they usually keep to themselves.
EclipseClan
Leader - Goldstar
Take up the mountains and beach. Used to be two clans, CresentClan and SaltClan, before they merged when Rowanstar was still a kit.
They believe in passing roles. The leaders title is passed down generational, along with medics.
Rouges
Rouges aren't a clan and don't have a leader but there are a few special rouges I'm gonna talk about here
Seers - Oracle and his daughter, Meadow
Seers are cats that see. Kinda like med cats, they have a stronger connection to StarClan. They can predict the future and read fortune. They also kind act like a moonstone or moonpool, the healers go seek them out for visions and stuff, and leaders are granted their nine lives with them.
They're nomadic so they don't live in one place and they don't belong to any clan so they're happy to help all. A seer could be any cat really but this ability is passed down through blood.
Healers in this have less abilities because of this. Any cat can sense ghosts, only seers can see ghosts.
Theories about the woman in Willow Hill
I remember seeing a Wenclair mutual on X post an interview with the show's creators that said something like, "Nobody really dies on the show." And that made me think about all the aforementioned "deaths" from the series. Mentioned ones we haven't seen on screen. Which deaths we DID see:
All the Hyde murders.
Rowan Laslow
Noble Walker
Valerie Kinbott
Dr. Fairburn
All the Slurs murders
Donovan Galpin
Marilyn Thornhill
Which deaths we DIDN'T see:
Francoise Galpin
Ophelia Frump
Rowan's mother
Rowan's Mother (My crazy Theory)
I was thinking about all those deaths mentioned in the show (that I remember) after reading that post on X. It's possible that the real deaths in the show are the ones we're shown (I don't think Rowan counts because we know it was Larissa pretending to be him). And the other deaths that are mentioned, but not seen, may leave the door open for that character to "return" in some way.
The way Wednesday is thrown around in episode 4 reminded me of Rowan Laslow and the Da Vincis. They can move objects with their minds, and Rowan's mother is supposed to have died, but we never saw her die. Excerpt from Rowan to Wednesday: "My mother drew that picture 25 years ago when she was a student at Nevermore. She was a powerful seer. Told me about it before she died." "My mother said it was my destiny to stop this girl if she ever came to Nevermore, because she would destroy the school and everyone in it." What I find curious is the trivia on the Addams Wiki page: The ironic part of Rowan's goal is that he was right in the meta/multiverse sense; Wednesday was the threat his mother predicted. Not just the titular version of her, but instead the 1990s film version. This means that Rowan's mother was talking about Christina Ricci's Wednesday, who years later became Marilyn Thornhill. Rowan's mom was right, but she got Wednesdays wrong.
With this I could rule out Rowan's mother, but there are still two women who, I think it's a general thought in the fandom, could be either Ophelia Frump or Francoise Galpin.
With this, I could rule out Rowan's mother, but there are still two women who, I think it's a general belief in the fandom, could be either Ophelia Frump or Francoise Galpin. Francoise Galpin:
This is one of the most popular theories, and the one that's probably the correct one. That the Willow Hill woman is Francoise Galpin. Excerpt from the Addams Wiki: At some point in her life, Francoise met Donovan Galpin, a normie living in Jericho. They later fell in love, got married, and had a son named Tyler together. After her pregnancy, Francoise suffered from postpartum depression, which then led to her being released from hyde. According to her personal medical records, her transformation into a hyde led her to be institutionalized at the Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. She later died at some point afterward. Her death would have profound consequences for her family in the years to come, as Donovan would neglect and emotionally distance himself from a vulnerable Tyler, whom he feared inherited his late wife's genetic outcast. If this is true, Donovan hid from Tyler his entire life that his mother was still alive. From the way Wednesday fell in Episode 4, it really must have been someone with incredible strength who pushed her, and obviously, she was facing off against Tyler's Hyde. If he was the one who pushed her, where was the woman who was with her?
Ophelia Frump:
This is by far my favorite. That the woman Wednesday rescued was her aunt Ophelia. It's true, her cell was the most protected of all, and it makes sense that it's because Francoise's Hyde must have been contained, but this still doesn't make sense to me. I still don't understand that Donovan didn't realize his wife was locked in that cell when he knew about L.O.I.S. Excerpt from the Addams wiki about Ophelia: In season two, Ophelia is constantly mentioned by her older sister, Morticia; it is revealed that, like her niece Wednesday, she was a psychic raven. However, she took her power to the extreme and finally ended up going insane. Hester, her mother, was forced to admit her to an asylum despite Morticia's pleas not to do so. Morticia knew that the asylum would only make Ophelia's condition worse. Hester did not listen to Morticia and sent Ophelia to the asylum. Ophelia escaped and was never heard from again.
Ophelia is supposed to have escaped from Willow Hill at some point, but do you think, given how strict Hester Frump seems to be, that she wouldn't have sought out her daughter to lock her up again? Another thing that caught my attention was that the woman had no other containment than that cell. If she's a Hyde, she should have had at least chains, but no. Just a small, super-secure cell, apparently. Not very good for containing a Hyde, considering how Tyler was locked up and what he said about the cell he was locked in. We never saw where the woman escaped to, but if she's Tyler's mother, something tells me she must have recognized him as a Hyde because she's one too. Now, if the woman is a Hyde, does that mean that by freeing her, Wednesday has become her master?
I wouldn't like that to happen very much. That would be a direct link between Wednesday and the Galpins, and we already know Jenna and Wednesday don't want anything to do with them. That's why it's better that the woman is Ophelia. That she was locked up like a monster because it was the only way Hester could keep her locked up without the danger of her escaping. A Hyde couldn't be contained, because they're monsters that only masters can contain. The only detail that wouldn't fit with Ophelia would be her hair, because Ophelia was always blonde, but this is a reinvention, so they were able to do it in a way that…
Finally, the photo of young Morticia's fencing team.
Finally, the photo of young Morticia's fencing team. Francoise, could the brunette girl be a mermaid? Xavier's or Rowan's mother? And Yoko's mother?
I don't even know who they are other than the ones we already know, but I think it's interesting to see a little more about this.
Place your bets, folks. Who's that woman? Friend or Enemy?
