Rosalind Hale as a detective and Andreas as Valtor's right hand, what could possibly go wrong?
Happy HEX @shadowofnight!! I had so much fun brainstorming ideas for your gift and then drawing and then writing some because I couldn't resist the urge to add a few words to go along. (Read here.) I hope you'll enjoy! 💜

Y'know... I was very VERY skeptical about this new Alien series for a streaming platform. I started watching with like no expectations at all. Just wanted to see my fave scary xenomorph again wreaking some more good old havoc.
Well, of course I got my Xeno then. And what a powerful, stunning one! 👽😮🤩 But what I didn't expect was, that I also got a well thought through plot and a bunch of very interesting new deep characters with intriguing backstories and relationships. I'm really looking forward to see how all of their destinies will unfold!
And on top of it all: The setting guys?! I immediately felt like my 12 year old self again watching the first Alien movie for the very first time! The whole atmosphere is just phenomenally retro! That space ship looks exactly the same as the Nostromo! And the camera shots... the lighting... even the music... EVERYTHING felt so eerily familiar, I had goosebumps from the start! So they did a really good job on the whole opening sequence and its details and even managed to imbed it into that new setting on earth that looks very technical (but also very 80s technical if you know what I mean, everything feels so retro!🤩👏🏻👌🏻) .
Those creators LOVE the original movie from the 70s! You can see that in every frame! It basically BREATHES Alien!
And I already know that I will prefer it 100% to the prequels Promotheus and Covenant. Romulus was ok imo, it just wasn't mindblowing. But that is something Alien: Earth can still achieve for me, if the storyline stays as intriguing as in the first two episodes.
Wendy and her brother are killing me... softly.😭💔 Being a synth she's even more human than some of the actual humans seem to be. I really want her and the "lost boys" to be safe and happy... I don't want to lose them...
Long story short: I was positively surprised. It's definitely worth a watch. But beware, this is Alien. And it's very gory sometimes. But it's not really Alien if there isn't any gore there.
Xeno's wreaking havoc, full on berserk. Let the screaming and running start all over again! It's like riding on a ghost train! I felt very entertained and intrigued by it, but first and foremost I'm very into the retro setting and the love they were putting into all these familiar details. That's what does it for me. I recommend the watch, especially if the very first 2 movies are your faves of the franchise.
it's a Sherlock fanfic and it's inspired by ang huling el bimbo. plot is; yn teaches sherlock how to dance during their teen years and they fall in love, but as the years pass, they drift apart and yn ends up being a single mum who could barely afford anything. in the end, Sherlock identifies her body in the morgue
it's dark i know, BUT IT'S SUCH A GOOD IDEA UGH. i plan to write this as a single piece, about 5-10k words... I CANNOT WAIT TO WRITE THIS AAAAHHHH 😭

With the shift's end nearing, Street steps into the locker room, peeling his shirt off with a sigh; it's been a long day for the team. Chasing down Street's uncle may have brought up some triggering memories, but keeping it to himself seemed like the best idea as he didn't want to worry anyone.
Tan was next to enter the locker room, sitting on the bench behind Street "we don't have to go; we could just go home, have a shower, cuddle, watch movies or even just sleep?" Street softly sighs. The team had decided to go out for drinks tonight; he didn't want to go; Street didn't even know why he agreed; maybe keeping it a secret was a bigger deal than he realised. Street shakes his head slightly as he puts on a new shirt, closing his locker and turning to face Tan "why? I'm fine," he says. He Kisses Tan's forehead before leaving the room; he's thankful for his boyfriend's efforts, but pretending everything is okay just feels like the better option.

A wave of anxiety hits Street as they enter the bar; he's not sure why, but the noise, a large number of people, and he's suddenly very aware of everything and everyone. With his emotions on high alert, Street is ready to turn around and run straight home to bed. It isn't until Tan places his hand on his lower back that Street remembers why they are there, but moving seems impossible, with the memories flooding his brain. Tan pushes him slightly, placing a light kiss on his cheek. Street shoves his hands in his pockets and holds his head up high; he can do this, he's got to do this, so walking up to his team with a smile, he steals Luca's beer. Tan sighs softly, following him but not before buying them a beer; he doesn't want to deal with a Luca and Street fight tonight.
Street taps his fingers on the table as the conversation of today's shift continues to flow through his ears. This is not what Street needs to hear, and Tan knows that. The team doesn't, and saying anything just seems to jeopardise Street's wants, "it's not often I say this, but I'm glad we got to hand over this case; that man made me sick, and the thought of what else he could've done-" Deacon cuts himself off with a sigh. That's when Tan notices Street is staring. Although he wishes he could say Street's just zoned out, he can tell it's an anxiety attack. The tapping of the fingers, the staring in the mix of rapid blinking, the small foot taps, it's all a dead giveaway. Tan wraps his arm around Street's waist, hoping not to draw too much attention to them. Pulling Street closer, he kisses his forehead softly. Today the team had to chase down Street's uncle. Nearing the end of the shift, Hicks found out who he was, so instead of causing a scene, he handed the case over to 50-squad. Tan's sure Hicks came up with some sort of excuse. Still, he didn't care about that because Tan just couldn't figure out how he knew the guy; it wasn't until Hicks handed the case over to 50-squad and Street wasn't around that it clicked. Now Street was the only priority; he just wanted to get him out of this chaos without causing a riff in his relationship or his team. Don't date teammates.

Tan's holding back tears as he drives, a quick 15-minute ride home now feeling like an eternity as he listens to his boyfriend's sobs. Honestly, he expected this; the breakdown had been brewing all day. As Tan pulled into the driveway, he looked at the broken man sitting next to him. Getting out of the car, he grabs their bags and places them inside; then, opening the passenger side door, he picks Street up gently, causing an immediate bear hug for Tan. Street needs a different kind of love, the kind you need after watching your mother kill your father in front of you and try to get you to take the blame, the kind of love you need when one of your abusers needs a place to stay, and they pick your apartment, the kind of love you need when you bottle your emotions up till you can't take it anymore, and you finally break down, the kind of love of hiding even from the people you care about most. Tan? Tan gives that love away for free he might as well tattoo it on his forehead. And Tan loves Street more than anything in the world; he'd do anything for him, so cuddling and playing with his hair while he waits for Street to drift off is how this night ends.
Tan is up early the following day, cooking some sort of breakfast concoction. He knows; he knows Street will want to pretend nothing happened. And Tan's going to let it slide this time, they have a shift today, and he knows Hondo won't let it go. So Tan's just going to settle for a bit of extra love-giving and wait for the truth to come out to the rest of 20-squad when Street's ready.
You couldn’t pinpoint when exactly Hunter became an integral part of your life. Maybe it was when he herded his brothers off to bed so you could sit together in comforting silence after a long and stressful day. Maybe it was when you unconsciously memorized his preferences in food and drink when you all weren’t stuck with rations. Or maybe it was when woke up in the middle of the night just minutes after Hunter, recognizing even in your sleep when he was distressed.
Whenever that moment was, it brought you to the realization that knowing him had changed you forever. While you’d always been withdrawn and closed off from others, you never felt that way with Hunter. He could get you talking like no one else could. If you were troubled, he eased your burdens with even just a listening ear. You no longer knew the person you were before you knew him, as if you’d been saving the most comfortable version of yourself just for him.
You tried to tell him as much a few weeks after you noticed it. You were just laying down to rest, listening to the snores coming from the rest of the Bad Batch to make sure they wouldn’t interrupt your conversation. Hunter could tell you had something on your mind as he wrapped an arm around you and asked you to share it with him.
“I’ve been figuring out that you’re the single most important person in the galaxy to me. I love your brothers of course, but no one compares to you. I can’t imagine any version of my life that you aren’t in, and I’m glad. I don’t think a life without you would be nearly as worth living.”
Hunter squeezed softly as he pulled you closer, his silent reminder that he loved you. The gesture made you smile in the dark.
“And, more than that, I can’t imagine who I would be without you. I think some small, stubborn part of me wanted to save the best of myself for someone truly special. Someone like you.”
You distinctly heard a sniffle when you fell silent again. You glanced up to see a confused expression on Hunter’s face. He hadn’t made the sound.
“Wrecker, is that you?”
Hunter’s quiet question was answered with a quiet “no” and another sniffle. Wrecker had always been the sweetest of the Bad Batch and the only one that never made even joking remarks about your more tender exchanges with his sergeant. You buried your face in Hunter’s chest to stifle your involuntary giggle at Wrecker’s attempt to cover for himself.
“Love you, Wrecker.”
“We both do. Now go to sleep.”
Hunter’s command was followed by snoring from Tech and Crosshair. Wrecker joined them in slumber soon after. Once all was quiet again, Hunter ran a hand up and down your arm.
“I love you, cyare. Always have, always will. And as far as life goes, neither of us have to worry about being apart. No power in the galaxy could separate us forever.”
You let his words sink in as you both drifted off to sleep. Hunter almost always knew what to say to make your heart melt. You didn’t notice, but you had the same effect on him. The sergeant fell asleep that night with peaceful dreams of you and the sound of your words echoing in his head.
