Supply carts at the ready, portfolios on the walls, paper and glue covering the tables...Annette Lawrence's art studio was the perfect location for Installation Art's most important interview. Thanks again, Annette, for inviting Gibbs Media Group into your creative space. The atmosphere made all the difference!

Definitely one of Annette Lawrence's most impressive works! The ingredients couldn't be more ordinary, or the result: more grand!

It's always fascinating to see an artist knee-deep in their work! In this photograph, Annette Lawrence is hard at work installing a string exhibition: "Concentrations 36." This show ran from May 18th to October 1, 2000 at the Dallas Museum of Art. If only we could have seen "Concentrations 36" in person! Many thanks to Photographer Brad Flowers for this great capture of Annette Lawrence. Episode 2 of our docuseries — Life Through Art — defines INSTALLATION ART and features Annette Lawrence: an African-American Installation Artist with a special interest in the passage of time and an environmentally conscious workflow that makes the most of commonplace material. From recycled string to brown paper to junk mail, Annette wastes nothing from everyday life.
