Im so upset about the deh movie for so many reasons but i'll touch on two of my most petty ones and a third just because im genuinely concerned about it.
1) Ben platt literally looks like he's in his late 30's. Someone tried to say it was chill to look older when you play a teen with mental illness bc mental illness ages you, but I have never in my life seen a teen who looks like they are bordering on 40 and I know a lot of mentally ill teens. Id understand a teen who looks like a very tired 20ish but the role has obviously aged Ben Platt past his 27 years and it just looks unnatural and borderline creepy to have him in scenes with people who do look the age they're playing, especially Zoe since he seems to still have romantic scenes with her. I get that he's put his heart into Deh, but he just doesnt fit when it comes to the big screen. A proshot on stage would've been better bc the level of disbelief allowed on stage is greater then that of a professionally produced movie.
2) What did they do to my boy connor!?!?! His grudge look is gone and they messed up his vibes. I'll never forgive them for that.
3) (TW) If they show either of these boys (or anyone for the matter bc that one scene with zoe looks worrying) attempts then i'm rioting bc thats some 13 reasons why, hollywood, cashgrab bullshit that can get kids killed if they dont handle it right.
