I wanna make a few things clear. Whether or not taylor is a good songwriter on her own is subjective, and even though i think she isnt that doesnt mean Im going to say shes objectively bad. She, like all writers, has had her moments both good and bad. (Though id argue she has more mid/bad than good ones)

I will say the misogyny argument against people who say kendrick is better absolutely reeks of racism and general classism. Kendrick doesnt write like a 19th century english baron, he doesnt use the same style as Hozier or Bob Dylan, and so he's only graded as a rapper and not as a lyricist. He is outwardly and proudly a black man whose lyrics and storytelling are often rooted in anti-establishmentarianism and protest, and a lotta folks (especially a ton of swifties) cant stand to see a black man get his flowers, especially for songs that call out systemic racism.
