I feel like Johan is the sentimental type, like he'll slowly amass a collection of your favorite things over time to the point that pretty much half of your childhood photos are gone without a trace. He's just silly like that tbh.

there's something so invasive about the thought of a yandere who has access you to your childhood home/key memories. it's as if even your past isn't off limits. i think this is why i find the yan chrollo story 'reunion' to be one of the most unsettling i've written since it touches on that concept. okay okay onto johan though, i'm sure everyone is throwing rotten tomatoes at the mention of mr chrollo...
there's almost no one who understands that your childhood shapes you better than johan. for this reason, he agonizes over discovering every little secret about your past that he can. he wants to know how you became the person you are today. collecting some curios related to you is an added benefit. these item are special significance to you are proof of your identity, an area johan feels he's especially lacking.
by far one of his favorite belongings to pilfer from you is anything handwritten. grocery store lists, journal entries, papers from school; he wants to gather and collect as many as he can. he views it as a snapshot into your mind. whether it's hastily scribbled or recorded with great care, there's something about it that's so unapologetically you. whether it be the doodles along the margins or hasty corrections.
and yes, he is quick to memorize your handwriting to the degree he can perfectly emulate it. this does not bode well for you.
