concept: reincarnated as a noble towards the end of aristocracy (in a fantasy world)
in isekais when the main character gets isekaied as a noble
it's usually at the height of aristocracy when they have power
it would be interesting to have a setting towards the end of it
when aristocracy for whatever reason is on its way out
the nobles want to keep and regain their power and authority
but the working class wants to be in charge of the country
and there is some serious conflict between the two sides
things are relatively peaceful and safe for the nobles for now
but the main character the main character who got isekaied
they come from a post aristocracy world and learned from history
and they know that it's only a matter of time before things get violent
because the working class may be asking nicely for cooperation today
but if things continue as they are with the nobles being stubborn
suddenly one day the working class will no longer be asking nicely
so they go out of their way to cooperate and help the cause
negotiating for benefits and perks so that they can live comfortably
to a normal noble the terms proposed would be an insulting pittance
but to the isekaier who is a normal person
those are some REALLY GOOD perks and benefits
they ask for a guaranteed lifetime salary for themself
in exchange for handing over their authority and land and treasury
asking for 3-5 times the average yearly income of a ' commoner '
which is more than enough for them to live comfortably
it is such a good deal that the working class agrees to it immediately
the isekaier also offers to assist with paperwork and accounting
and whatever other administrative tasks the people may need
putting themself in the position of assisting without any authority
and because the isekaier negotiated for those terms for themself
so early in the conflict between the nobles and the working class
they are celebrated as a hero and seen as an ally to the cause
meanwhile the other nobles see them as a nothing but a pathetic fool
the isekaier quietly sit on the sidelines and blend into the background
making sure to stay out of the spotlight and let people forget them
and when the revolution happens they won't get swept up in it all
people completely forget that they even were a noble once ago
not remembering it again until long after all the bloodshed is over
they have just been working away quietly in the background
helping to shape the policies for a better world for all the people
making use of their knowledge and insight from the modern age
in order to prevent any of the post monarchy pitfalls they knew of
always making sure to give someone else the credit for the policies
sometimes openly and sometimes sneakily by planting ideas
acting as a trusted advisor who refused credit for their contributions
all while casually enjoying their comfortably and cozy life
they didn't use their knowledge and insight to cause a great change
instead they merely took advantage of the conflict that was happening
using it to ride out the coming wave of great change approaching
ensuring that they would be in a good and comfortable position
and helping out a little bit to here and there and influencing things
to prevent bad stuff that would normally happen down the line
they consider this a fair trade for the benefits and perks received
