Hi, lollercakes, it’s me, your Rebelcaptain Secret Santa! I had such a hard time choosing between your two amazing prompts, but eventually settled on four missed connections and one that wasn’t. I would’ve sent you snippets along the way, but November and December have been extremely busy months for me at work and helping my child with school, so I could only work in bits and pieces and have spent the last week editing like a madwoman.

I'm really bad at leaving kudos, but I'm going to get better. I hate seeing anyone feel like this, but especially friends. When I read it, I'll love it, and probably suggest it to other friends, too.

Pretty sure every author would say nothing is more flattering than getting a rec, but the thing is, a lot of the time we have NO IDEA when we’re getting them. So if person A loves a fic and recs it to all their friends, but doesn’t leave a kudos/comment, and then those friends read it and love it but also don’t indicate it to the author, all the author sees is their hit count going up and up with no positive feedback, and the only conclusion that can be made is that people are back-clicking out because they hate it.

I know you are incredibly supportive of my fic because you talk to me about it, and I hope you know how much I love you for it, but generally speaking, no kudos/comment means an author has no idea someone enjoyed what they wrote, which is where it gets very discouraging very fast. No reader is obligated to leave feedback, but in return, writers aren’t obligated to continue writing if it stops being fun because it feels like they’re shouting into an empty room.

God, I’ve been whinging all day. I’m sorry, guys.

that's what writing (and rp) is for! :0D i feel that it makes it more poignant in the movie that it didn't happen, but there was the promise of something if they'd just had more TIME.

OMG, yay!! It’s sort of sad feeling so excited about something and knowing you’re basically the only one, so I’m super happy that it will at least have one interested person in the audience!

That is tentatively good news!

I hope so! He’s really being a pain in the ass about the meds so I’m not thrilled about having to keep giving them, but fingers crossed it will do the trick. Next step will be a culture which is really expensive, so, yeah, fingers crossed. I just want him to feel better!
