Today on 'Probably accidental or not well thought out parallel's on Supernatural', we have the psychic kids and the seven deadly sins!

I've been slowly watching Supernatural recently and it just occured to me that each of the psychic kids reflect one of the sins, though some could arguably be one or the other and they dont fit all sins perfectly. The only exception of the eight is Scott, who sadly doesnt have enough time to properly show how he truly is. Scott could arguably be wrath as he threatens the therapist or pride because he threatens him due to him not believing Scott, but this doesnt hold up due to his other actions and the way he holds himself.

So that just leaves the remaining seven (Trigger warning for mentions of SA), most of whom actually die due to the sin the represent.

Ava takes pleasure in killing people, which is definitely a sin but it makes it hard to pinpoint exactly which one. I originally had her as wrath, but she doesnt show any real anger of intense hatred, in fact she jus kills people because she finds it fun- which is why I would put her as Lust, because contrare to popular belief Lust has to do with intense desire, not just s*x. She has an intense desire for bloodshed, going so far as to actually lure the others away from each other to kill Andy and not listening to Sam. She die because she's so blood thirsty she was sloppy about how she killed Andy in front of a hunter, and then was so focused on her desire to kill him she didnt realize Jake was back.

Lily at first may appear to be envy due to her reaction to the others abilities, but she is in fact textbook Pride. She actively others the rest of the psychic kids, thinking they are freaks and basically saying she's above them, even with her ability which is arguably one of the most powerful. Her 'woe is me' attitude refusing to even think that maybe the others have also had hard times due to their abilities (Sam+Scott who is literally dead because of it+They all got kidnapped) or even without them (She didnt lose a parent but four of the others did, two of whom are present which is quite insulting+Max and Sam's childhood's) is part of pride, she only focuses on herself, and is even too prideful to stick to the others which gets her killed as she doesnt listen and tries to escape.

Jake is Greed as he is willing to trade the world for his family, he wants to be the victor and gain that power which is why he kills Sam, even though Sam refused to do so to him after winning their fight. This greed leads to him opening the gate which gets him actually shot by Sam who refuses to make the same mistake twice.

Ansem is likely greed or lust due to him wanting to have a relationship with his brother, literally murdering people to get him to come to him as well as him attempting to SA his own coworker using his ability, even being shown kissing her whilst she is under his control. But he could also arguably be Envy as he wants the family that Azazel practically stole from him and is envious of his coworkers relationship with his brother. Ansem is killing people who took is brother away which may add to this, and this is what leads to his death by his own twin's hand.

Andy is Sloth, which his ability reflects. Andy can get whatever he wants for free, which he does, not working towards any of it and instead being lazy and not getting a job, making others work for his stuff instead. This quite obviously makes him sloth, and is somewhat relevent to his death as when Ava goes missing he stays back which leads to her killing him.

Max is very vengeful (And unstable and angry) which is apart of Wrath, which can also be shown with his obvious intense anger towards his family due to what they did to him. This leads to him killing his family and eventually himself when he is stopped.

Sam is either Gluttony or Envy. Gluttony is not just about food but overconsumption of anything, including drugs such as demon blood which acts like one. Sam obviously has an addiction to it, which leads to the detox that nearly killed him. Then Envy as Sam is pretty obviously wanting to live a normal life, which he attempts to multiple times, only to be dragged right back, which is a major part of his character. Poetically this fits with his brother who shifts between Wrath and Envy throughout the seasons and whom expresses his desire to live a normal life, his Envy leads to his anger at Sam for leaving which ties in nicely. This Envy becomes less noticable over the seasons but is still there as he leaves the life multiple times. You could argue that Envy is linked to his death as the lifestyle that causes his envy is what kills him, but personally I wouldnt.

Remember in 2x05 Simon Said, how there are two brothers? One with powers, who wants to use them just enough to have a convenient, normal life with a girl he really likes? And one who is bitterly lonely, enjoys killing, and wants to punish anyone who keeps him away from his brother, including any girls that might get between them? Regardless of how uninteresting and ridiculous of a life together that sounds like to the first brother?

Remember how the narrative has the first brother kill the second brother to protect everyone from his homicidal obsessions, even though it originally looked like the first brother was the unnatural baddie? Because it's the second brother who's actually dangerous?

Supernatural really is a hell of a show sometimes
